I have received a few sporadic complaints from some JA Forum members who have received an email “invitation” to join another small forum.
Please be aware that we do not give out or make public anyone’s email address from the forum. Any email addresses that were obtained were done so by this other site scanning our list of members and contacting those who left their email address public.
This is pure and simple spam. It is unethical and it is illegal. A site/forum was shut down by their server for half a day on a Saturday three weeks ago for a flagrant spam offense as they were attempting to recruit members from another very large forum. It can be verified through their server that they were not hacked, as was claimed, but were shut down due to complaints.
If you receive any such emails, please forward them to me at randy@justadventure.com and I will in turn present them to the offending parties server. We will also post the headers and text of such an email in the JA Forum in the hopes that we may put a stop to this unethical and illegal behavior
