I saw a quote on a message board about a week ago from someone who had taken a tour of Lucasarts and said they had heard that a new Monkey Island game is due in a couple of years. Unfortunately, I can't find that quote, and can't back up what I said. Still, I hope it's true!

 I hope so !

Maybe the rumours are based on the interview by Computerandvideogames.com  with the Lucas Arts PR Director.
One question is: "You've also got the Grim Fandango and Monkey Island adventure franchises. Will you be looking to resurrect those?"

And the answer is: "I'd say so. I'd say that they're extremely viable properties for us to tap into in the future, in the same way that we're doing with Sam & Max. There's no reason why we can't adapt those to another generation of games players. I think there are stories that still remain to be told within Monkey Island and Grim Fandango."

???

By the way, the best Lucas Arts adventure ever is without a doubt Grim Fandango

Yes. Sounds good. Only thing concerning me is ; "There's no reason why we can't adapt those to another generation of games players.".

Wouldn't surprise me if they weren't pure adventures.

Yes, that would be tragic, can you imagine Manny Calavera hacking and slashing or Guybrush actually kill someone in insult sword fighting  >

Monkey Island 2 is my 3rd all-time, all-genre, all-platform favorite game, my favorite adventure game and therefore my favorite LucasArts game.
Someday you people will have to explain to me what what so great about Sam & Max.

What are you? It's one of the best/funniest adv. games. Try it you'll see, and you'll laugh for hours.

How could you not love a game about a PI dog and a rabid rabbit?

oh come on... one of the funniest advs around... i know its humour was a bit too "americanish" but it was very funny nevertheless

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

the way things are going it wouldn't surprise me one bit even if i saw Rosella blasting off some alien scum with her kicka$$ plasma gun... it's sad i know

Same deal with Zork: The topic is a little bit boring, so I try to lighten things up, sometimes.

Perhaps not everybody catches my drift. :-[

Perhaps nobody. :'(
