A close 2nd has to be Sam and Max. One of only a few computer games to make me laugh out loud (DOTT also deserves a mention for the humour.)
Also a big mention to the Monkey Island series.

What ? Is there a Monkey Island sequel in the works ? Have I missed something ?
BTW I'd choose Grim Fandango without a doubt !

I saw a quote on a message board about a week ago from someone who had taken a tour of Lucasarts and said they had heard that a new Monkey Island game is due in a couple of years. Unfortunately, I can't find that quote, and can't back up what I said. Still, I hope it's true!

Maybe the rumours are based on the interview by Computerandvideogames.com with the Lucas Arts PR Director. One question is: "You've also got the Grim Fandango and Monkey Island adventure franchises. Will you be looking to resurrect those?"
And the answer is: "I'd say so. I'd say that they're extremely viable properties for us to tap into in the future, in the same way that we're doing with Sam & Max. There's no reason why we can't adapt those to another generation of games players. I think there are stories that still remain to be told within Monkey Island and Grim Fandango."
???
By the way, the best Lucas Arts adventure ever is without a doubt Grim Fandango

I would have to say Grim Fandango. For it's sheer class and sophistication. For the way it makes you feel clever for understanding some of the jokes. For it's cinematic feel. For creating a world that sometimes seems to have more detail than the real one :-/. For having more atmosphere than most modern films. For it's music. For it's immersiveness. For the whole very successfully created aesthetic. For not having an anti-climactic ending that still manages to be low key (if i remember correctly). For some of the best gaming memories of my life. <sheds a tear>
The most charming/funny Lucasarts game for me is Day of the Tentacle, bearing in mind I never really played the first two Monkeys and I'm sorry to say that they are way past it now.
