I play Z-code games on my Palm all the time.  Here's a good place to start with lots of games already converted to Palm .pdb files as well as interpreter downloads and stuff.

http://www.refalo.com/palm/interactive.htm

Personally, I use Pilot Frotz and it works very nicely.  I especially like the shortcuts it includes like tapping on a word on the screen to repeat it and the pop-up list of directions and commands.  It makes it easy to use on the Palm.  You can convert any Z-code type games to Palm files using the Z2PDB utility available on the site above.

Looking around I found a newer Magnetic scrolls and Z-code interpreter for the Palm here, but I haven't tried it out.  It looks promising.

If you try out Pilot Frotz and have any problems or questions, feel free to ask.

Yeah, Kronos looks very nice, especially with the integrated note taking and automapping features, but it requires a decent Palm to run it apparently.  I didn't see the exact system requirements for it, but I'm pretty sure my old Palm IIIe will not handle it.  But hey, it runs Pilot Frotz great and there are oh-so-many Z-code games I haven't played, I don't think I'll run out of them.

Aargh... you're right! Was so impressed by the screenshots and specs I didn't even bother to look at the system requirement  :-[

Thanks again Mike_A, I've got Pilot Frotz up and running on my PDA!  I downloaded a bunch of games and have decided to play Rent A Spy as my IF debut on my Palm.

It took me little bit of screwing around to figure out the Z2PDB program (I'm really out of practice for DOS stuff), but everything is a go now.

I had also found a good site last night (and this morning) with some excellent beginners information and games.....but it doesn't appear to be working now. ???

It was www.microheaven.com/IFGuide/. I guess they missed their domain or server payment this month.  I'll keep checking though.

Hey Mike,
I am SOOO new to IF on PDAs. I got Pilot-Frotz and it is on my expansion card in my Palm Tungsten E2. I downloaded the 300+ games pack and loaded a few onto the expansion card, but only 3 of them work. The rest say they are pdb files, but I can't get the Pilot-Frotz program to recognize them, or they aren't "programmed" right (I don't know technicals!). I have the Z2PDB program, but it only flashes on the screen, and I don't really know what to do with it from there.
I know this is newbie awful, but can you help? :-?
