| Deleted User | W stands for What in the World has the United States Wondered about? Why there is a W in government. He certainly wasn't elected. Why? Who, Where, When. All the W words.
Let's substitute O as the operative vowel.
Oil. Oh.
O my god. O I am caught.
Oxymoron, Moron for anyone who voted for him.
Ouch, my vice president is smarter than me and controls all the Oil.
Out of bounds of campaign finance reform.
Oh god. God wants me to raise all these funds
Off the books. Oh I am really special after all.
Out of my way, you world. I am a Bush.
Off with their little spoiled heads. Feed the rich. Kill the working class. Take their jobs overseas.
Oaf.

Now that I got my rant over I can answer your question about what countries start with W.
I suppose we all can use history to our advantage and name a country that actually existed while we lived here on this little planet.
West Germany.

If you think West Germany doesn't exist you need to read and find out more about the German mindset. :

WithoutbushLand
It is a large country in fact. It lies between two seas.
Convenient because it's leader lies between two seers. Seas or seers, take your pick. Either way you get a bad leader.
One seer preaches lies to him. The other seer teaches him how to speak lies.
Between the two of the seers, the W steers the country and the world so off course and into debt beyond any could imagine.
Take your pick. A country with or without a W. I would pick one without.

Doesn't appear on the map though West Germans can fantasize all they want about the return of their country

| Deleted User | Western Samoa? I dunno, its hard enough to find countries with W anywhere in the name, Norway, Kuwait, Taiwan, Sweden...and that's it I think
Or is this some kind of trick question and Im just not getting the trick?
...incidentally, I dont think a riddle thread in an adventure game forum is the best place to spout politically, but that's just me.

That is two!
And Wales is not a country. It is part of the United kingdom, which is a country!
Wales not a member of the UN, doesn't take part in the Olympics, is not independent, doesn't need a passport to enter and many other reasons why it's not a country...

Tell that to the member of the Welsh Assembly who govern Wales.
The point of the United Kingdom is 4 seperate COUNTRIES with a joint agreement. Doesn't make Wales any less of a country. It has it's own national anthem and Flag.
They have their own international Rugby and Football teams. They choose to join forces for other sports like the Olympics.
Most countries in Europe don't require a passport to visit doesn't mean France and Germany are the same country.
As a member of the United Kingdom I see myself as Scottish first of all British secondary and will take umbrage if anyone suggest Scotland or Wales are not seperate countries.

Most countries in Europe don't require a passport to visit doesn't mean France and Germany are the same country. All countries in Europe do require a passport to visit for non-EU citizens.
Anyway France or Germany issue their own passports. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Welsh and Scots use the same old UK passports.

No

No its a European passport that allows free travel between the countries. Therefore Europe is now one big country by your standard. You don't even require a passport to cross between countries just an ID card.
Europe is now controlled centrally so therefore France and Germany etc must cease to be countries :-X
The United Kingdom is a smaller version of the European union in that it is seperate countries who jointly agree to a union of power.
