After a long search I finally found a copy in a bookstore... which is a pity, because the game is certainly worth buying and a wider distribution would lead to better sales for sure.
Great review! Good to see that there still are a few Dutch reviewers of adventures around.
Dark Fall is available at: http://www.dpluss.nl/
A very reliable Dutch on-line shop. You don't need a credit card and they deliver the next day.
And at PC Media in Driebergen. A brick-and-mortar shop that takes on-line orders as well. http://www.pcmedia.nl
I can remember the old days when most bookstores sold computer games. Why would that be a problem? The more the better.

The average person looking for a game will stop at Dixons, Free Record Shop and Bart Smit, if the game is not there how will they get exposed to it?
It was only by coincidence that I walked into the bookstore and discovered they had games as well. And not the standard/average shoot'm'up selection but adventures! And not just Syberia and the budget release of Gabriel Knight, but Dark Fall, The Omega Stone and Nancy Drew!
But the average person who is looking for a decent adventure will probably never see these and think they don't exist anymore... I hope I can help a tiny bit by pointing people to bookstores with my review (I think I've convinced one person to buy Dark Fall already).
Beta-tester of 'The Path', 'Rhiannon', 'Scratches', 'Hope Springs Eternal', 'Time Stand Still', 'Frasse and the Peas of Kejick', '1893: A World's Fair Mystery', 'Carte Blanche' and 'Oakhaven Plantation' a.o.&&

Sure. In computer shops, like Dynabyte, in department stores, like V&, etcetera.

I realize I'm not representative of the average gamer, but I never ever go to Dixons or Bart Smit to find an adventure game. I picked up Morpheus, Egypt II and a couple of others in a bookstore, where they also had a bargain bin with the old Monty Python games.
I think it's a shame that the big computer shops don't carry more adventures. Loads of shooters, no Dark Fall. The Computercollectief has a short list of adventures (In Memoriam on pre-order!), no Dark Fall.

That's why I feel you should also tell them about the possibility of buying on-line (without credit card).

Keep up the good work!

I've just started playing Dark Fall and must say it's one of the best games I've played in recent years.
It's indeed a shame that this game is so hard to get in stores, but I don't think it's entirely the fault of the software shops. I have yet to see any title of the Adventure Company materialize on store shelves here in Belgium. While shops like Free Record and Fnac carry adventure games like Runaway, Mystery of the Mummy, Shadow of Memories and the dvd rerelease of Amerzone, none of them have heard from any of The Adventure Company's titles. :-/ TAC desperately needs to gets its European distribution working cause this is just ridiculous. I don't think any of the Belgian bookstores sell adventure games here, so it seems to be virtually impossible to get games like Dark Fall here in Belgium.

Wim! I'm flabbergasted! We'll make a Myst-clone-man out of you yet.

lol! I guess that'll only fully happen when I play a Myst-clone that can beat the Gabriel Knight games. Don't expect that to happen any time soon.

Be sure to let us know here when one of your future reviews will be online. And I hope you'll have some spare time in NZ, from what I've heard it's a wonderful country.
