I've got a big irritating problem with syberia: during the movies and even sometimes during the game itself the sound is not continue but has a lot of hickups, or glitches (whatever you call them). I noticed at the forum of syberia.info, that more people have sound trouble, but nobody got any useful help.

Anyway my specs are:
flex pc amd ddr
amd athlon xp 2200+ 266fsb so-a & cooler
motherboard asus a7v8x so-a ddr333/400
memory dimm 512 mb pc2100 ddr
harddisk wd 80,0 gb udma100 7200rpm 2mb
leadtek geforce 4 ti4200 64mb tv-out d
creative sb 4.1 digital oem 4-weg

I've installed both patches and the version of syberia according the "debug" file is 1.0.0.8. (microids version)

Ok, I know the solution:
You have to turn off all hardware sound acceleration (you should be able to do it from the multimeida properties in control panel).
