Status : Online | The Crystal Key--I made two separate attempts at it but something about it makes my stomach hurt. I just don't like it and couldn't make it all the way through (either time).
The Watchmaker--got caught up right at the end. Couldn't get past it and still haven't finished the game.
URU--I want to play it!! My computer just doesn't meet specs and it crashes to desktop constantly. That problem added to the long loading time really frustrated me. Hopefully I'll get to play it soon though...

| Deleted User | I actually finish all the games I play, so the only games I haven't finished are the ones I'm in the midst of right now. The exception to this is Cryo's Odyssey, which was irritating to play because the interface is awful and the puzzles make no sense. I kept running into bugs and the last straw was when I found out that the game degenerates into action sequences. However, since I managed to get through Mystery of the Nautilus, I'm sure I will eventually finish this.

The Neverhood: I found it to be too boring and tedious to complete.
Escape From Monkey Island: I couldn't even escape Lucre Island.

Status : Online | I have a few I remember, but I might remember more as I have no patience at all these days:
-King's Quest 7- tried all 6 chapters and died horribly in all of them, the only one I got through was chapter 2 and it was relatively good because it had the least amount of death scenes. I would've probably finished this game if it weren't for the fact I kept dying for the dumbest reasons.
-Starship Titanic- I just got lost and had no idea what to do. No one was offering any help in this game and I couldn't find my way around that huge ship. I HATE having to do alot of travelling all the time so I returned it (the bomb got on my nerves too, I heard some reviewer actually waited for it to reach zero and explode. Scary).
-Versailles 1865 (or something)- my brother was the one actually playing, a good thing too because I kept spinning around due to a bad control system, and I had no patience for running errands in the game. We eventually got stuck on the fourth chapter when we only had one location we could go to and nothing to do in it.
-Atlantis- gah! didn't make it through the first chapter- first I died because I said something someone didn't like (how was I to know? it wasn't written, there was just an icon!), then I died because I was supposed to hear someone approaching behind me and hide wherever and instead I got sent to jail.
-Lighthouse- didn't know what to do. Only managed to get past the evil bird thing and get lost. Didn't like it at all.
Discworld Noir- now here's a game I wanted to finish! I had a killer bug in the third chapter and could do nothing about it no matter what I tried. What a shame, I am still waiting to find a good version of this game.

Grim Fandango - was in year 2 (and enjoying it) but was so much in love with first person, solitary exploration games that I quit to play something else (can't remember what it was )
Darkfall - quit to play something else, still have my saved games but it's been so long that I'll have to start over anyway.

Status : Online | Well wouldn't you know. I already had a list of my unfinished adventure games ready. I just love lists.
- Syberia Unbelievably slow and frustrating. Give me a map, for chrissakes. - Riven Neither my kind of game nor my game copy, so I gave it back. - Escape from Monkey Island Controlling the character with the keyboard hurt my arms like $%&#. If they had released it on Gamecube I probably would have finished it. It didn't seem good enough to warrant buying a gamepad for my computer though. - Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (text adventure) I guess the old text adventures just aren't for me. Too bad.
Feel free to ignore this post.

Status : Online | Here's a few I haven't seem elsewhere:
Schizm II - what plot, where? Clumsy console. Got tired of falling through the hidden sidewalk. The game was tedious up to that point of frustration.
BS3 - nice story line but the console port was worse than unprofessional. Does the Adventure Company ever QA it's publications?
Black Mirror- seems the pump puzzle is random and came up in an unsolvable state. Perhaps if this game hadn't been the follow up to Syberia II, I would have been more patient with it.
Overall I would say that when the game mechanics block the story line for too long, then I get frustrated and move on. This blocking is not to be confused with a good puzzle.
I expect an adventure game to set environments and tell a story within those environments--and the plot advances through puzzels. If any of the elements of story, puzzle, environment and interface are too underdeveloped, then I cannot move my imagination into the game's world.

Bleah, I still have the same games on my unfinished list as I did when I originally posted in this thread: Temujin, The Last Express, Jewels of the Oracle, and Xiama!

Hey, like NBC used to say about their reruns: "If you haven't seen it, then it must be new to you!" Which was actually pretty lame.

Return to Zork: Got annoyed with it within an hour and abandoned it.
Realms of the Haunting: got pretty far with it and then couldn't progress because I couldn't kill anything withmy depleted ammunition. Since then I'm on XP and it won't work.
Unreal: was really enjoying it, but was playing it on a friend's laptop, which got stolen (with my game). Never bothered to replace it.
Omikron: got about half way through and it fatally crashed deleting all my save games and refusing to restart. Thanks then. >
Druuna: Morbis Gravis: Played about five minutes and uninstalled it.

IIRC, death wasn't really a problem in KQ7, you don't need to restore a saved game in order to continue, there was an option to try again, before your character had died. Similar to Larry 6 and Space Quest 6.

I know, but the fact that you die all the time really ruined my concentration in the game and didn't let me try what I thought was the right solution because even if it was I had to time it properly so as not to die. A very dicouraging thing, that is. I can't stand game where you die all the time, that's not what adventures are about.

Infernal game with infernal action is more like it. I'd get really into it and play it for a few weeks, then give it a rest for a year. I have yet to try it on god mode and on this fast computer. When I start it up again, hopefully I'll get through it faster. I got up to level 10, if I recall. I think the saved games are still on the old computer. Wouldn't want to start this game again from the beginning. But it can wait awhile longer.

Putting aside the fact that it was boring and bad, it also had lots of bugs- it kept crashing after several minutes of play. it deleted one of my savegames after playing for awhile it refused to save at all.

| Deleted User | Latest unfinished game:
Broken Sword III: Sleeping Dragon
Reason: Was bored out of my brain by the pointless timed arcade sequences, cliche characters and predictable humour not to mention the amateurish graphics and awkard controls.
I really enjoyed BS II, but absolutely hated BSIII.
Arx Fatalis: Got to last BOSS level and couldnt get motivated to kill him.
Gothic II: hmm I have to finish this one because Gothic is a great series with plenty of atmosphere. Absolutely nothing wrong with the game, just got distracted by something else
Call of Duty: Come to think of it, I havent even started it yet.
Vietcong: Got stuck being snipered on a hill.
Divine Divinity: Got to last stage and got bored.
Pirates of the Carribean: Loved the modded game (Build v9). They keep coming up with great innovations for the Build, how can I possibly finish
Still playing Far Cry... but I'm sure I wont finish it despite it being a brilliant game... I'll just get sidetracked by something else as usual.
