Well, according to Ray, if you liked Obsidian, you should play I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.  I've played neither, so I haven't the foggiest whether or not they're anything alike.

Nooo, they're completely different! They're like Heaven and Earth, fire and water, black and white, fork and knive, Coke and Pepsi...
I would recommend Drowned God (although is not that good), Morpheus and, maybe, Amber.

According to the CD case I am holding in my hand, Obsidian was developed by Rocket Science and published by SegaSoft.

I started playing it and I love it, but my only complaint is I wish there were some way to install all 5 CDs onto the hard drive. Is there a way?
I have enough space. There was a way to do it for Riven which improved the experiece a 1000%. CD spinnage and swapping demands patience I sometimes am just not in the mood for.

I'm still in the first section. Great surreal fun.

BTW, there's plenty of copies in Japan. (Completely localized into Japanese though. Knowing Japanese is a must
Seems a company here picked it up to republish as a "classic".

Cheers, Omnia.

I used CD Copier from IMSI.  Copy all the CDs onto the hard drive and then install the game from the CD image on the hard drive.  Works like a charm.  Comes time to swap disks, just ALT+TAB, bring up the CD Copier drive, swap images and back into the game!

Obsidian is one of the all-time great first person adventure games, ingenious puzzles, very weird and sometimes quite funny, great looking.   Disagree that if you like it you should play I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, since that game was incredibly aggravating.  You basically have to play each section over and over, because everything must be done in a certain order, and if you do it wrong you aren't told, but just lose at the end, and have to play it over, until you finally do it without making a single mistake.  It's really evil.

Simply put ........... one of the best adventure games ever made. Very, very unique puzzles in an Orwellian Universe.

I'm playing mine for the Nth time!

I didn't find disc swapping a problem.

Deleted UserObsidion has one of the very best ending sequence of puzzles in all of adventure gaming, in my humble opinion. Try puniching in the codes as the buttons morph! The monitors in the 1st Realm had me laughing so hysterically I will never forget the moment.

Wolfboy, the Obsidian necklace isn’t becoming with your pale skin. Try some nice faux pearl earrings. I would recommend a choker broach, but with an adam’s apple it would be too confining.
