I couldnt help but notice that no one answered this topic yet, maybe no one had the courage to play this game (and who can blame them?) I also played Simon 3d and found myself desperately trying to get out of some buggy situations like: - the awkward controls that kept me running and bumping in the walls like crazy!! (Espeacilly while trying to escape from inside the computer at the end) - the glitch after crossing the bridge at the end. - using the yo-yo to get far away objects was really a pain in the a**. The other things that really got on my nerve were: - Most of the time, there were no clues of what to do next. - I just kept running and running through empty areas that featured nothing to interact with. - A lot of the dialogues and jokes felt like they were made for a South Park episode, which I thought were somewhat funny, but really unsuitable for a Simon game. - Quite a lot of the characters voice acting sounded really weird. - After expectating a conclusion to the story, they decided to end the game with a silly excuse for a sequel... When will a Simon Game have a real ending? On the other hand, I really loved some of the dialogues and solutions to the puzzles, and I really enjoyed all the final puzzles (crossing the bridge, fighting Runt and the end puzzle). Simon is a great character, too bad they couldnt make a game worthy of the previous titles But who knows, maybe if they make Simon 4... [center]DIEGO J. The faces of the children were enough to give you nightmares! At least South Park is funny smutty. I found this one just smutty. :-[ SOme of the solutions were clever - SPOILER ALERT!........... The CD eject ccommand in the Computer solution at the end - It took me days to figure that one out. I think I only discovered it in frustration when I decided to leave the game! SPOILER ALERT ENDS. I took so long to arrive in our shops- I think I was expecting something entirely different (and how long did you waste catciing butterflies? I spent hours there...not happy adventure filled hours either :-[ I have spoken to at least two people who gave the game up at the butterfly puzzle. I think perhaps that's why we haven't heard more about it. |

(I almost forgot that part) Getting the butterflies manual was a fair puzzle , but trying to catch a purple butterfly... :-/ I tried... and tried... and tried...and tried....and tried... and tried again... and tried some more.... and tried yet again...and just kept trying...and tried one more time... (If it looks boring reading all this, imagine playing through all that! ) Adventure Soft released a patch to fix some of the game bugs, the only problem is you would loose all your saved states and would have to start all the way from the beggining !! What were they thinking? That we adventure players like to suffer? I have to admit, if I wasnt such a fan of Simon the Sorcerer, I probably would not finish the whole Simon 3d. (Perhaps they should release a patch to replace the entire game with a new one!) P. S.: did you saw the screens of Simon the Sorcerer 2 and half at adventure soft official site? It was the original 2d version of Simon 3 that never saw the light of day. The game looks completely different, with different characters and locations and, to be fair, it looked a LOT better than Simon 3D. [center]DIEGO J. (the same sort of people who marketed Duckman for children ) Didn't they have a terrible problem finding a publishing house? After playing the game - I can see why.... |
