In a store!  I'm wondering through my local Wal-Mart, looking at the computer game shelves.  All of a sudden, I see this white little box with an eye looking at me.  I practically crapped my pants!  Sanitarium sat there on the budget shelf...of course I grabbed it.  The game was $9.14!!
I suggest you go look in your Wal-Mart, or computer store.  If its published again, it should be places.

I've read on another forum that the game has indeed been rereleased. This is great news for everybody who missed out on this game the first time around. Don't miss it again. You won't regret it. Sanitarium was truely an awesome gaming experience.
I wish they would rerelease a bunch of other hard to find adventure games too. Here's hopeing that some day they will.

You won't be sorry. Sanitarium is an excellent game -- a bit short, perhaps, but a lot of fun putting together just what is really going on in that strange, macabre game world!

I'll have to check out my local store!
Even though I don't like to go in there normally.)   Thanks for the news!

Still adventuring after all these years!

Patiently awaiting The Last Crown: Haunting of Hallowed Isle, and Bracken Tor...

... and Asylum if it's not tooooo scary...

Deleted UserI was long interested in buying this game after I looked at the screenshots. the charaters was a bit small which I thought was rather odd!

After I get tired searching locally, probably I'll order it online. But I do think it's a must to have it. Does it have any problem running on XP?

Deleted UserSarah:  Some people claim to have had problems running it on XP, others claim it played fine.  Ya takes yer chances, I guess.

Deleted UserGood for you.

One of the finest adventure games IMHO.

Happy day!

Yes, I was pleased that I saw Sanitarium re-released in the little boxes at a store I was dragged in that I don't go into unless I have to - Wal-mart.

It has a very teeny action sequence about 1/3 way into the game, but it really is very easy and the most forgiving of all action sequences I've ever seen in an Adventure game.

The endgame is a little tricky, but once you understand what you need to do, it becomes easier. There are hints out there if you need them.

Enjoy! One of the great Adventure Games!

Please proofread your posts carefully to see if you any words out.

Deleted UserI couldn't agree more.  Although the award of "My Favorite Game Ever" changes all the time, depending on the mood I am in on any given day (Do I feel like humor or action or mystery or graphics or story or conversation or puzzles today or what?), Sanitarium maintains a solid position in my Top 5 and is frequently #1.

Sanitarium would have gotten into my top 10 but I thought the main character's voice acting was pretty atrocious.  Aside from that, awesome game.

I read somewhere that the 'Walmart' version runs perfectly under XP but my 'old' one also does. But this is a definitely must-have. One of the reasons adventure games exist.

Actually, I think the main character voice is one of the very best. He seemed most of the time genuinely puzzled.

I am playing it on Windows 98, but it says its compatable with XP
Either way, I am a ways into the game I suspect (Disk 2), and I am loving this.  The action sequence you spoke of was very forgiving, and it added a bit of tension.  I hope that this is the kind of "action" they mean in Broken Sword 3...but I highly doubt it.

Muahahahahahahahaha

You actually made me replay this game
It's brilliant, disturbing, fascinating... I didn't remember about the action sequence and, now that I see it again, is frankly silly but it was rather fun solving. The storyline is truly impressive - so many details!

I think he is just insane...so far.  I've only met the Good Doctor once, but I really think he has more up his sleeve than he is letting on.
SPOILER ALERT!!!

Okay, in the beginning you just get in the car and drive away, no problem...not like your stealing it.  And people tell you you stole a car, the Dr. tells you you stole a car!  I think that Doctor is a wanker, and is hiding something.  He has an agenda.
I'm working my way through it fast...I'll be back.

oh wow, I remember seeing that game in 1999 at Egghead and it was rather expensive and then I got it for almost nothing a year ago and it was a REALLY good game!
You will have fun playing it.

Hmm, I was going to wait until next Thursday when I'd be near a Wal-Mart for an appointment, but I may just have to make a special stop this weekend if people keep saying how good this game is.  And that includes Randy's JA+ review of the game as well.

I just went to wal-mart but it wasn't there (I live in Glendale, AZ), though I did pick up the combo Undying/Alice for a measly ten bucks.  Anyone else know where I can snag a copy of sanitarium besides ebay?

I just saw a copy of Fallout in a bargain bin for 5$.
I though about everyone saying it`s a really really great game (and now even gamespot says it`s one of the best games ever) I couldn`t get myself to buy it.

I really really hate isometric RPG`s..and exploring a post-apocalyptic world doesn`t interest me at all.

someone tell me why I should buy this except for the story?
and please tell me the fighting is turn based, I don`t play RPG`s that aren`t..

I hope someone sees this, I didn`t wanna start a new thread about a RPG.

EDIT: I just found a great site about the game that explained everything I wanted to know..I`m gonna try it

I can now put myself in the "owner of Sanitarium" category.  Courtesy of Wal-Mart.
