So far as getting drunk is concerned, there seems to be in Australia anyway, quite a sort of "mind-set" especially among some younger people that getting drunk is the "cool" thing to do. I'm constantly surprised at the number of young girls who, when you ask them what they are going to do at the weekend will reply "get drunk"! I really don't know if it's just an Australian thing, but even in New Zealand we had a very close friend who when coming to dinner, would not leave until the alchohol was "cut". We learnt to make sure that not too much was in any obvious place.

With the attitude towards drinking from some people in this country I can quite see where Caroline is coming from, still it's easier to drink too much without realising it than you think and sometimes just a couple of drinks on an empty stomach can make you quite ill. Still it's mostly a matter of choice unless one is really an alchoholic and they are to be pittied because most of the time they don't even realise that they are.

Look, I'm not a wowser.

Today I've baked for a party at school tonight.  I've just told hubby what sort of wine to pick up for us to take.  There will be 400 parents all with supper hampers and lots of booze.  I'll bet you anything, not one of them has to be carried out of the building tonight. (although it'll be mostly the mothers who drive home
)  And we'll all have a great time.  I'm looking forward to it.
