Now that's an offer that should not be refused. Does she have to wait for you to get your Hummer? Music is one of the best escapes you can find.

Have to agree.  I use music to make me happy all the time.  Not that I can take it apart and analyse it like Daryl, but I do enjoy warbling along.

Deleted UserIs it possible for the public to own a Hummer? I do see people here drive with big jeeps but I'm not sure if that's a Hummer.

Music is therepy, yes indeed
. Playing the piano when I'm stressed, somehow cheers me up.

Because I've never, ever done it.  Between having strict parents and having a baby at a young age, I've not had the opportunity.  I don't want to make it a habit, I just want to try it once....

Deleted Usergamergal, my parents are strict too but I moved out of the country whe I was 18 and with nobody controlling me, I was spoilt. Sometimes I regreted for even try smoking (well never tried pot) and drinking. It makes you want more and more! Though I'm not that a drinker now but it sure is tempting. But I do respect that you haven't tried drinking and smoking! Stay where you are and don't try it! There are more interesting things to do like drive around in a Hummer with your dentist.

I had a friend once and when he was 17 his parents was still 35. I think he had the most greatest parents in the world! Can't believe I'm talking about my ex. But it's true, his parents are much younger than ours and it was really great to hang out with them. I don't know how to explain it but I can see the difference comparing to my parents.

No, everyone should do it at least once. How do you know it's bad unless you tried?

I think getting drunk is fun, not that I do it very often (these days prolly under ten times a year, and I never drank a lot). But you gotta know how much alcohol you can handle - having headaches afterwards or getting sick is not fun.

I don't see anything wrong with it if it's something you want to do as opposed to have your friends push you

I forgot my sig.

Gamergal, I wouldn't imagine that getting drunk once would turn you into an alcoholic, unless you're very susceptible to alcohol. Go for it, I say! As for cannabis, I've never tried it but I think it can be quite addictive for some people, so you might want to be careful there. I wouldn't recommend smoking tobacco - I know quite a few people who tried it once and found they couldn't stop...

Except if you're like me, the first time pot might do absolutely nothing to you. I was kinda surprised, a friend of mine was laughing like crazy and I was like, WTF is this supposed to do again?

Next time I ate 'special' brownies... and those worked for me
I liked that better than smoking anyway.

My sister smokes pot and said it didn't do anything for her the first time, either.  Unfortunately, she decided to pursue her quest and does it quite regularly now.  I met her dealer as I was leaving her house one day....that just cracked me up....I was like, "they freakin' deliver? Like ordering a pizza, huh?"  I swear, I could not stop staring at that kid....

That's where we differ, though, as I would be satisfied with just the experience of trying it even if I didn't feel anything.

I often wonder what my opinion will be about my life when I'm 80 or so.

Will I think that I've lived my life to the fullest or have I missed some serious opportunities in my personal life or business life.

At the moment I’m happy the way I am, but off course there are always targets to aim at:

- Get my firm healthier and more the way I wanted to be.
- I want to give and receive more love to whoever, because it’s never enough
- Be there much more for my daughter over the next 5 years, because after that she wants to see other boys and is not interested anymore in her old father :-/
- I want to see the world more then I do now. In the future I want to travel a lot with my wife.
- I want to have a funky midlife crisis in the next 10 years or so.

But also:
- Learn to play the piano better. More Jazz and improvise
-      Have a real cyber babe

-      More time to play games
-      Cook better
-
ance more
-      More cultural life

I'm sorry to say this dude, but that's what makes you ignorant....once you see what alcohol can fucking do to a person first hand through life and death you have no reference....and this does not only pertain to alcohol but drugs too...

oh, it's all good....it's fun.......IT FUCKING KILLS, you jackass.....

...it most likely won't kill you in one try but there is amssive potential implied in the acts....

I never wanted to start this argument....because it carries heavy weight....but you may have started it....

No, everyone should do it at least once. How do you know it's bad unless you tried?

First, let's make a distinction...moderated drinking wine for a healthly living to fight heart disease and other ailments is an exception....and is permissible...

otherwise getting drunk: Why should they?  Because it's cool?  Because it's what everyone does?  Because it's the staple of uncountable number of cultures?  What makes it so special that everyone has to try it?  Because it transforms your otherwise useless fucking mind and body?  Maybe because most people are boring, inconsiderate, and senseless?....what does this world not offer you that you can get with alcohol?  It is very naïve of you to say that it's fun....getting sick is the least of what can happen, c'mon....

Please, tell me your personal experience with the negative effects of alcohol and drugs....

Sorry for the discourse; I'm not personally attacking you...I'm just utilizing your response.

Sounds like you unfortunately have some first hand experience... in my family I have a lot of people who drink but no alcoholics.

oh, it's all good....it's fun.......IT FUCKING KILLS, you jackass.....

In rare cases.

...it most likely won't kill you in one try but there is massive potential implied in the acts....

You mean doing stupid things while drunk?

otherwise getting drunk: Why should they?  Because it's cool?  Because it's what everyone does?  Because it's the staple of uncountable number of cultures?

Because I want to. From time to time. Because it makes me disinhibited.

Please, tell me your personal experience with the negative effects of alcohol and drugs....

Drugs, none - but then I smoked/ate pot about three times in my life and that's it. It obviously didn't turn me into an addict.

Alcohol, I got really sick once after drinking a lot of cheap scotch. And I felt very queasy all next day. A few times I had a mild headache afterwards - drinking quality liquor and not mixing drinks seems to help

Compared to most other people, I drink rarely - but I certainly want to be able to when I feel like it!

Maybe we can agree that alcohol has different effects on different people?

Reminds me of the funniest scene in Never Been Kissed.
She ate that brownie and and danced and it was so hilarious!! heh heh

Sir Funk, Jazz and other modern pieces are my favourite too! Awsome!

On alcohol, I don't drink beer. If I drink too much I have difficulty in breathing.  It sucks! Oh and the hangover.. Phew!! I love tasting expensive alcohol. But I'm not an alcoholic.

I have never smoked tobacco or drugs and I know with certainty I never will.  It stinks.  I don't want to be redered stupid, incapable of looking after myself or to make myself vulnerable to abuse.  People who smoke pot and drive are just as selfish as those who drink and drive and they usually end up killing others.

Did you know that if you are seriously injured in a car accident while drunk you bleed to death faster than non drinking people?

As for pot, there is now some solid clinical evidence that pot smoking destroys the brain rendering you incapable of making sensible decisions by middle age and in those susceptible to it, it can induce schiczophrenia.  There has been a huge explosion of mental health problems among young people who smoke pot.  This is not something to be played with.

I'm with Stooge on the idea that life itself is a big enough thrill for me.  I don't need chemicals to make me happy.  I get happy and giggly with friends.  One glass of good quality wine can be enjoyed for its taste - I don't need to be senseless.

I worked with an alcoholic who would drink 2litres of red wine a day during working hours.  He lost his licence for drink driving, his marriage for alcoholism, and now he's in his 40s his health is deteriorating.

There is no safe limit for cigarette smoking.  Check the medical facts.  My father smoked and even though he quite in his 40s, his health has been ruined and he is very ill and all his teeth recently snapped off. The dentist explained that most people don't realise that smoking damages their teeth.  young people think 40 is old and 60 is ancient.  They don't realise that when they get to these ages they will still want an active lifestyle but won't be able to have it because of their unhealthy habits.  There's no need to be frail at 70.

Hey!  That was a rant!   oh one more thing.  Smokers really do smell bad.  Their breath stinks and their hair and clothes, and their fingers and teeth turn yellow.... yuk   And really, non-smokers aren't interested in smokers so you automatically reduce your chances in the dating game.  Oh and smoking promotes impotence - and we're talking about mid 40s here.

Gamergal.  As a nurse you should know better.  You're missing nothing, believe me.

MichalN.  I think you're being deliberately provocative.  I find your complaisance in calmly recommending people to 'try everything once' rather odd.  Would you recommend your children to do this?  How about those poor kids who try ecstasy once and die?  That's all it takes isn't it for some people.

Deleted UserAlright peeps, sorry for posting short replies.

As Caroline said:
You're missing nothing, believe me.

I agree with her. I don't see anything that interesting in smoking or drinking. Might use the money to buy more games. Well, that's one thing why I quit smoking. I loose money everyday on cigs!!

Smokers really do smell bad.  Their breath stinks and their hair and clothes, and their fingers and teeth turn yellow.... yuk

My room stinks when I was a smoker and I don't know how I could've stand it. Maybe it's because of the addiction and I didn't care. Even going home from clubbing, I had to scrub myself because my hair stank so much and so was my breath and my clothes.

I loved dancing so much and bought the PS2 dancing mat for me to dance to the beat. Now I'm not a smoker anymore, I can't stand with people that smokes. Strange enough.

Caroline, I just have to jump in here. I have smoked a ton of pot as a lad and there is no danger at all to other drivers. One drives so very slowly, below the speed of traffic. The most dangerous drivers are females, ones who would cause a traffic accident are those mothers speeding to get their children to school on time, blaring the horn and dodging in and out of traffic, or putting on makeup, or talking on the phone while weaving in and out of traffic.

Of course, it is many years since I smoked pot, as I got tired of it once I had a family, but believe me, it is not a road hazard at all. Pot smokers drive very slowly. They like to look at scenery and are very cautious. You have listened to too much propoganda.

No, I don't want my son to smoke pot, but if he does I will at least know his being under its influence is safer than all the caffinated and stressed out people dodging traffic to get a better light up ahead.
