Bad news -

Italy's oldest development studio, Trecision, has today announced that it is in the process of being liquidated after a game history that spans some 12 years. Trecision was responsible for such games as Alien Virus, Ark of Time, Nightlong: Union City Conspiracy, and, more recently, The Watchmaker.

What?

Deleted UserSad for the members, although I have to say their output wasn't exactly highly regarded...  :-/

I've heard that nightlong wasn't all that bad, and I had some fun with ark of time...

Too bad. I quite liked The Watchmaker, despite its flaws.

I've played Nightlong and I think I quite enjoyed it. I seem to remember it having an interesting story and some ok puzzles. No great piece of work, but certainly enjoyable.

The CD containing the Watchmaker demo was promoted to a coaster, which still resides on my table.

Too bad!
I really enjoyed Nightlong!  Couldn't take the gameplay of The Watchmaker and have only made it halfway through.
on't care enough about the characters or the plot to muddle through the rest of it.  I was most disappointed.  It probably would have made a better 2D game.

It is sad when an established company like this goes under.

Still adventuring after all these years!

Patiently awaiting The Last Crown: Haunting of Hallowed Isle, and Bracken Tor...

... and Asylum if it's not tooooo scary...

The only one I haven't played is Alien Virus.

I think Nightlong is the best of the three I have played.

To me it is sad when a gaming company doesn't make it but imagine it is very difficult to turn a profit that will hold you over to the next game and to pin your hopes and dreams that the game will be a winnder.

I've been told GMX never paid Trecision any money for The Watchmaker. Does anyone know if this is true?

Too bad,
THe Watchmaker and Nightlong are on my top 20 list and Ark of Time, despite it strange story and bad acting was very enjoyable (Alien Virus is very bad), so it's quite a loss, IMO

Also, according to the french press (and according to my bad french) Microids are more than in trouble, they may be closing already - is it true? Hope not and I hope I misunderstood the whole stuff.
