Hey there,

I'm planning on getting one of the console games by the end of the year and since I am undecided on which one to get, I'm hoping some of you can point me in the right direction.  I will be looking for one with good shooting games, ie., House of the Dead, Time Crisis -type games.  I will also be buying any sort of gun plug-in accessory, since I'm used to playing the arcade versions of those games and would enjoy a gun rather than a simple hand controller.  As well, is it possible to use 2 guns since I'll be playing a multi-player with my boyfriend? (That would be ideal).  I understand some games are exclusive to certain systems, but don't they usually come out with a similar game for the other systems?....as in, if House of the Dead is exclusive to Xbox, then maybe PSX2 will have the similar game Evil Dead?

As well, if anyone can recommend any games (and mention the system) I'd love to hear your opinions.  But keep in mind that we are novice shooters, so we don't need anything too terribly complicated.

I don't play "house of the dead" type shooters, but I do have a PS2 and GC so I'll answer some general things.

Yes, they all have their specific games. For the GC it's all the typical Nintendo things: Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong etc. I'd have to say that the GC has the most exclusive titles. PS2 has Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto as it's major exclusives, but there are several more. Lastly, the XBox has our (PC) long awaited Halo , Dead or Alive and is bound to have more exclusives (as long as Bill keeps buying developers). I don't keep track of the XBox, so I can't say much about it. Except it's just a PC in a console.

Graphics wise, the XBOX is best, after that it's the PS2 and the GC comes in last. It's a different story about color though, the GC seems to be able to deliver the most vibrant colors.

The PS2 seems to have the most gun-controlled games right now, with games like Time Splitters, Ninja Assault Silent Scope and several others I think.

So which are you going to get? I haven't got a clue, that's why I have two (sorry about the rhyming
). I think 80% of console games are cross platform now, so it's all about the exclusives I guess. Oh, and the budget issue: GC is the cheapest console and has the cheapest games. PS2 and XBOX have the same price in both console and games.

I think that Gamecube looks better than PS2 but that's just my opinion.

PS2 has the most gun games so get that system if you like those I guess.

Evil Dead is not a gun game, it's actually more like Hunter: The Reckoning and Gauntlet and is based of a trilogy with the same name.

They all have their fair share of quality games.  I have a Gamecube myself and am happy with it but plan on getting an X-Box for a bunch of other stuff.

You probably get the best deal with Gamecube or X-Box.  Gamecube is 200 and comes with a game and demo disc.  X-box is 200 and has a dvd player and two games that come on one disc.

Or you can look at their game libraries

The PS2 probably has the largest library of good games, just because it has the most developers and has been out the longest.  It's also the only system that gets GTA.  However, it is an older, somewhat graphically inferior system.  The XBox is probably the most high tech of the systems, but in actuality the only reason to get it is Halo.  As for the GC, it has Metroid, which is basically it's Halo, in that it's THE reason to get the system, IMO.

My mistake, Gamecube is 150$

I'd also like to add that the creator of Full Throttle is making a game for X-Box called Psychronauts.

The PS2 is also available for 200 with 0, 1 or sometimes even 2 games, depends on the package you're getting.

There will be many racing games out on GC in the coming months. Not that many shooters as far as I can tell.

Here's another question maybe you guys can help me with...

I'm looking to buy a gun accessory with my system.  I see that the "Mad Catz Blaster" is available on multi-platforms, but there's also the "Scorpion 3", the "Guncon 2" as well as many others.  I haven't been able to find out a lot of info, and was wondering if anyone has any experiences with any of them.

As well, I have a Guncon that goes with my original PSX (I guess it's Guncon 1?), and was wondering if maybe that one might work with the PSX2.

Thanks all!
