I was about to post some of my fav sites on the net in the old thread, and discovered that it was archived, so I just HAD to start a new one!

Some of these might have been posted earlier, but what the hey!

This place is by far the most interesting place I've found on the net ever. It's a Dutch artist, who has made a fun, random and entertaining site. You can interract with the stuff on the pages. You have to give this one a try, I swear you'll be impressed by it!

Transcience, some games, some animated movies, in short interesting stuff! A very well made shockwave page. Take a look at the stuff, and go envious of what artistic people can do... Make sure to watch the movies, they are absolutely wonderful!

Álló Álló the old english sitcom, about the Belgian restaurant owner Réne, who gets dragged into the second world war resistance movement, having to hide two slightly daft english airmen, protecting the famous painting of the Madonna with the Big Boobies... Well, you who have seen it, know what I'm talking about. There are soundfiles here, you can listen to your fav-lines!

Who's the boss of you? I am, I am the boss of you!! Posted this in the adventure game forum, when somebody requested info on Zork, figured it could be repeated, it's so great!

Are you sure René in Allo Allo is a  Belgian restaurant holder?
I thought he was French?

Oh well, it would explain why none of the women could resist him.

And great sites by the way, especially the first one is a lot of fun!

To be honest, now that you ask, I'm not sure at all! There was a television drama about the Belgian resistance, that was extremely popular, and this sitcom sort of mocked the success and seriousness of that show, so I might confuse it! Either way, it's hilarious!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Resistance is not futile, we're gonna win this thing, humankind is too good, we're not a bunch of under-achievers! We're gonna stand up, and we're gonna be human beings. We're going to get fired up about the real things, the things that matter! Creativity, and the dynamic human spirit that refuses to submit.

Do you know the name of it? I don't think I've heard of it. Extremely popular you say, o.k. now I'm embarrassed.  :-[

But, you're right,  Allo Allo is indeed extremely funny!!!

Anyway, to get back on topic, here are some site I check out (almost) every day:

www.rolandgarros.com
Yep, it's tennis time again! Go Kim, go Kim!!!

www.dvdinfo.be
The best place on the web for dvd reviews and upcoming releases. And sorry folks, it's in Dutch only.

http://www.gamestudies.org/
A site where they write articles about games on an *gasp* academic level. Yes, some university professors and other such intellectuals actually believe games are worthy of academic study!
Check it out, some thought-provoking stuff there!

www.justadventure.com
Just like you know a bunch of losers like talking about a dead game genre you know dude. They don't even have screenshots of Half-Life 2 there and they call themselves a gaming site. huh!
Oh, and there's also something like they call a forum or something like that where crazy people just type in messages and stuff. They don't even have any sort of screenshots there man.

On the FAQ page on that site, I found this comment; "'Allo 'Allo is commonly acknowledged to be a spoof of a very popular serious war drama on British TV in the early 80's, Secret Army. " You can read a readers-review about it on imdb; http://us.imdb.com/Title?0075579

Sounds like an interesting series, but I had indeed not heard of it yet. Maybe I'll check it out one day!

Thanks emma! :-*

A few more political links:

http://www.bartcop.com/   - good stuff, rather angry in a good way. also includes several cartoons.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/ - I post here from time to time. Very up to date news and discussion.

non-political:

http://b3ta.com/  - Splendid photoshop bits, mostly involving kittens and pop culture, as well as all sorts of links.

http://www.rathergood.com/ - Flash cartoons, also primarily involving kittens. Be sure to check out the bit with the monkeys, as long as you aren't offended by terribly disturbing looking monkeys, and "Jamie and the magic todger", as long as you aren't offended by, well, that sort of thing.

http://www.pouet.net/ - Demoscene related reviews, links, and discussion. Demos are the one thing that you can do with a computer that is better than playing adventure games on one. In my humble yet esteemed opinion. Of course.

http://uncleclive.co.uk/ - Silly bits about games. Focuses more on consoles than anything else, with the odd Spectrum joke here and there. Quality stuff.
This week, I have been mostly playing
