Yes, it's true! According to this preview at Adventure Gamers, LucasArts confirmed that the game will be "a traditional, classic LucasArts graphic adventure". And it'll be point-and-click! Hallelujah!

OH! So bad, I was enthusiastic about the possibility of removing the dust from my gamepad!

Aaaaaaaaaaahhhh..yes ...yes a precious point and click....that will be a lesson to some guys from Funcom  :

Resistance is not futile, we're gonna win this thing, humankind is too good, we're not a bunch of under-achievers! We're gonna stand up, and we're gonna be human beings. We're going to get fired up about the real things, the things that matter! Creativity, and the dynamic human spirit that refuses to submit.

Deleted UserI don't mean to sound negative, but can someone explain to me how you can preview a game when there are no screenshots or playable demo of the game? This is nothing more than a puff article.  If they wanted to call it an article fine, but a preview should be based on actual gameplay, or maybe I am splittiing hairs here.

While I am at it, this same site links to a Jane Jensen article at Gamespot and calls it exclusive.  How can it be exclusive when Just Adventue also has a huge (and may I add better) interview with Jane Jensen  in fact they seem to have a few other things on their site also that they are claiming are exclusive, such as a Benoit Sokal interview, that are readily available elsewhere.  I think whoever is running this site need to look in a dictionary for the definitions of preview and exclusive.

Hurrah for LucasArts!!! :-*

And Carryon, the article might not be a 'preview' by your definition, but I'm glad as hell about any type of information about this game! Sam & Max, a classic poin-and-click playstyle!

I agree with my southern neighbour (Wimli). Any Sam 'n Max-info is welcome. And for me personally, I would buy a SnM-sequel just to play it. Even if that meant working with a horrible engine without point and click .... (but I'm really happy it's going to be p&c...
).

Those screenshots, that trailer  :-*! Only rotten thing is that "Spring 2004". The wait will be long, very long ....

Yes, the wait will be very long!
Let's just hope they get it finished on time. I don't think I'll survive many postponements.  :

Yes, and what a fraudulent claim that is!

Erm, what the heck are you talking about carryon?

Er, Gamespot posted the Project Jane-J preview on May 20th, and the JA interview wasn't posted until yesterday. So Gamespot did sort of get there first. Not that that means their preview is better, of course!

Just remember that GK 3 for example was in development for three years! Luckily the game was perfect!
So yes, if it takes them years to make Sam and Max 2 or TLJ2 perfect, I'll find one way or another to survive. They could release Runaway, for example. Who knows?

Deleted UserFrom the American Heritage Dictionary:

Exclusive:

NOUN: 1. A news item initially released to only one publication or broadcaster.

2. An exclusive right or privilege, as to market a product.

I see nothing that meets this criteria in the Gamespot Jensen ariticle, nor the Sokal interview.  There is no specific mention that these articles were meant to be 'exclusive' even for a short period.  Jensen reportedly spoke to many people at the E3.  Sokal has interviews at a few sites.  In fact, if you take the interperation literally "A news item initially released to only one publication or broadcaster" then JA had a true exclusive with their announcment that Jensen had a game in progress and it would be at the E3.  In other words, AG is misrepresenting itself.  I'm not saying the articles are bad or poorly written, I am saying it is poor journalism and unprofessional to claim stories are exclusive when they are clearly not.

3. Not divided or shared with others: exclusive publishing rights.

3. An introductory or preliminary message, sample, or overview; a foretaste.

Personally, I don't see the big deal.  :

You just proved my own point.  Thanks.  If you don't personally see the big deal in calling things exclusive that are not, then I would think you have some ethical problems and should not be involved in journalism.

*sigh* Can we please stop this argument? This was supposed to be a thread about Sam & Max 2, not about dictionaries.
