| Deleted User | Holy cow is right. Is 3 Skulls of the Toltecs really THAT rare? I'd never pay that much unless it was actually a collectors item- and unless it was a particularily good game.

Using ebay, you have thousands of potential buyers, including quite some mentally retarded ones. So if a wannabe-adventure-collector thinks a game is rare, has the money, and wants to spend it, that's just great for both the buyer AND seller.
I've got more problems with adventurecollectors that buy all those nice adventuregames just to put in their collection and not to play them. That way a lot of newcomers to the genre haven't got the possibility to play the good&rare&old ones.

Nope, this is the 'Ron' that doesn't like throwing cash away, not even a lousy $5...
And about those adventurecollectors; it's just the same as with books or LP's or CD's. All these media were made to be read, listened to, viewed, etc.
I don't like collectors that collect books to lock them behind glass and never look at them again. And I don't like adventuregamecollectors that buy games they aren't going to play anyway...  well, 'not liking'... i mean 'don't like them as much as others...')
Look at it from the game designers point of view. It are the pictures, sounds, dialogues etc. that form the game. Not a shiny disk in a box.

I've got no problems with collectors not wanting to rip off the shrinkwrap of the games and play them. The only people I have issues with are the greedy one's out there who buy up every single copy of rare game they find and re-sell it at a much higher price. If anything, that prevents a lot of people new to the genre from getting a chance at some of the classics.

Well I guess that's me to a tee. I have a large game collection and have only played a fraction of them. I also have a cd collection numbering about 1600, and many of them have never been listened to either (ok, so some of them I've learned suck so badly that they don't warrant a listen, but besides...). What does it matter anyway? I've paid honest money for them and continue to collect and spend money on them and keep the gaming (or cd) business moving.....and supporting the industry that makes products you like (whether you use them as intended or not) is what really counts.
Oh yeah, I also collect books. I have so many more mystery and suspense books than I could ever count, and many have remained un-read. Oh well.

Therefore I'll wait for this re-release, instead of spending $200

Sounds like a collector to me. Certainly nothing wrong with that in my book.

Such a deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go for it SirDave! You might even find someone silly enough to snap it right up. If it's on eBay it MUST be valuable.
