Has anyone ever played 'The Watchmaker'? I've got no idea how old the game is. I'm looking for a game to play untill I can get my hands on Mystery of the Mummy (Sherlock Holmes).

It looks and sounds allright but I'm not sure (must be the Simon 3D-syndrome
).

Deleted UserI haven't played The Watchmaker yet but to answer your question, it is a recent game.

You can read two reviews at JA:

I played the watchmaker a couple of months ago.  IMO, I didn't like it very much.  That's not to say you won't.  I loved Syberia but some people did not.  The story was kind of lame and a lot of parts were not explained when you got to the end of it.  There are two characters to control and most of the game can be played with just one, but there are some parts that have to be done with one character in particular.  The graphics were not the best and if you don't like using the keyboard then you probably won't like this game.  You can use the mouse for most of it but sometimes you must use the keyboard.  I did not think the puzzles were very good either.  I did use a walk-thru on some of it because I was just bored pixel hunting for the right item to click on.  I'd read the reviews on JA also for more details about the game.  Hope this helps.

Once again I comment on a game I haven't played!

Over at Quandryland, the reviewer liked the game - http://www.quandaryland.com/2002/Watchmaker.htm . Over at gameboomers, there's a good review by gaterlaw.  I also read the two Just Adventure reviews.  I noted that, in all the reviews, they said it was a very leisurely game.  I like that part, sometimes I'm in the mood for a leisurely game.   I think I'm going to buy it.

Thanks for the comments, tundra, since you are the only one who played it!  Now, if I play it, I'll know what to look out for.

Regards, mszv

I played the game a few months ago - not too bad.  It did have a few minor glitches, and one or two scenes were basically pixel hunting exercises.

All in all a fairly good game.

What?
