Perfect thread! What can someone say about this game?! I have played the PS2 version and i have to admit that it is the best game in this console.

The graphics are really cool but when you play it with PS2 you must have a good TV in order to enjoy it more. Everything look so smooth and the animation is way too ameliorated! The player (in the PS2 version) can run, run like hell, walk and walk like a tortoise. Everything are so good! The cars are designed in the best way to look realistic and i must tell you that it is a great work. The effects are accordingly great. For instance, when a helicopter is 'throwing' the men with a rope and it close to the ground then the trees bend!!! You can see anything...it is like a real city and most importantly it is HUGE.

The sound is probably one of the best things of the game. This happens cause most of the time you are in a car which means that you listen to many radio stations. Now, these readio stations are just great! You can find anything there. For instance, talk shows, rock, hard rock, blues....anything!!! The sound effects are also really great, like the sound of the guns and the engine of the cars.

The plot is the classic one....one ex-prisoner is back in business and wants to reach the top...

A must-play game!!! Run NOW...
Resistance is not futile, we're gonna win this thing, humankind is too good, we're not a bunch of under-achievers! We're gonna stand up, and we're gonna be human beings. We're going to get fired up about the real things, the things that matter! Creativity, and the dynamic human spirit that refuses to submit.

I've also played it on the PS2 (pity the "only owning a pc" mortals
).

If you haven't played GTA3 then this game will rock beyond belief.

If you have played GTA3 then this game will be great, adding all the things you either missed in GTA3 or which you thought could be improved upon.

Any game that will have my sitting on my couch till 4am in the morning whilst I'm playing the game, but not playing the story-line part of it, just driving around, causing mayhem etc, should be used as a blueprint for other game designers.

Well obviously, pity since you have to wait 6 months longer

And GTA3 PC version certainly didn't have better draw distance, hopefully that will be fixed with GTA:VC. Also, no improved graphics, just higher resolution.

Yeah? Well, howdja like dem apples? Well worth a 6 month wait for your own MP3's, improved draw distance, higher res, exportable replays, I say... and mouse/keyboard control. YEAH! BABY! YEAH!

GTA3 had some terrible bugs on the PC. Looks like it's been fixed! HUZZAH!

Indeed it does, this time they actually bothered to make it better looking. So you're right, you'll get better graphics. (but you still had to wait
)

Let's hope this one will be better to mod as well. That part was lacking with GTA3 as well and being able to would make me buy the PC version as well.

Seriously, the draw distance is great... and the environement fantastic - fish in the water, planes high above leaving trails, trees bending in the wind, weather changes, sudden police chases breaking out inbetween NPC's, car crashes without your interaction, malls to visit and buy clothes from... it's like GTA3 but 10 times better. And the first zone is huuuuuuuge!

I'm going back in... see you guys on the other side!

The dolphins and sharks are cool as well. And the sunken boats, the submarine etc. There are tons of things to see

So how do you like the helicopters? Or the motorcycles? Sadly they're not very usefull when you're being chased, but if you need to get somewhere quickly, they're ideal.

I won't say anymore, you still have tons of things to explore, enjoy

DOLPHINS? SHARKS? Still haven't seen them! Went on a rampage at the lighthouse with a chainsaw - people were jumping off the pier!

Got a joypad, which helps immensely with the helicopters. Direct control doesn't work at all with those (-1 for the PC). Love the seaplane. Motorcycles rule, especially wheelies.

The other day I took the rig from the movie lot and drove it backwards down a street, making a row of cars drive up it and crash down in front!

What a malicious little game.

I said it before, and yes I know I've got serious mental problems, but driving behind a car and shooting at it will make some cars race away. Just drive after them until they crash themselves. It's just plain fun

BTW. Great advantage of the bikes, you can shoot forward on them. And also, don't bother trying to get the record with longest wheelie. I've read about people doing them for 30 mins or more (Sanchez is ideal for them).

It's fun to jump on top of a car and shoot the car since they'll try to get away from you but they can't since you're on it and they just go really fast and run over people.

Almost nothing is impossible

Most cars will stop if shot at, and the driver will run away, but some cars will speed up and try to get as far away as possible.

Also fun: if you steal a car which has passengers, you will throw out the driver, but sometimes the passengers don't have enough time to get out of the car. Then when you drive away they'll start screaming

PS. Each time I tell people what you can do in GTA 3 and VC I get a stronger feeling that :
a. The game is seriously sick
b. I am seriously sick

What's up? You guys are still playing this game, don't you? Where are you, in the game? I am ready to buy the most desired Malibu club which gives you 15.000$ a day! Now, that's a lot of money. I advice you not buy anything and wait until you buy Malibu. The whole city will be yours.
A friend of mine, yeah i have real friends
, just finished it and he says that it is increadible.
I am stuck in the mission with the old "juju" lady and with to other mission i got from Baker, in which i must cause chaos in two minutes. Quite difficult cause four stars are quite easy to reach and the paint-job does nothing to stop it. A difficult mission was the one at the mall where you had to blow the place up. I had to get all five stars from the streets in order to get away from the police. How did you pass that mission?
