| Deleted User | I think a better idea would be something like... First person to find the secret ending wins a prize. You gotta figure there are Beta testers and all who have to go through the whole game to make sure it's any good, and a whole team working on it, so the story and all the major puzzles can be theorhetically leaked to the public (given that it is known to be competed for, there would be immense public interest) so basing the competition on the Whole of the game would be impractical. Alternatley, if there is a secret ending to the game triggered by, say, solving a series of puzzles that are incidental to the storyline, winning a series of mini-games, picking up several obscure objects that have nothing else to do with the plot, and, I dunno, doing it all within 5 gameplay hours, you get a slightly different ending with a code at the end you have to submit to get the prize. This would give the player more incentive to more thoroughly explore the game world and challenge themselves, I think. You couldn't have it like a head-to-head competition I think, once one player made any headway, all the others would simply follow suit. Further, it would be impossible to watch because you would essentially see the exact same story happening with slight delays between the occurrence of events. Multiple Two minute movies starting within seconds of each other would be very distracting.

Status : Online | Hmmm. Many adventure gamers feel that the whole point of adventure games is to play them slowly, savoring every little part. Slow is good! I'm not sure how well the "slow is good" attitude would lend itself to a contest where speed was important.
Just my thoughts.

Status : Online | There was a game made about 10 years ago (maybe less, it is hard to remember) that the developers promised to give the first person that finished it a large amount of money. I don't remember the amount of money and I don't remember the name of the game.
All I remember was that the reviewer of the game said that it was practically impossible to finish that game. And if you did finish it you had to write a detailed walkthrough and have a save game near the end to prove that you did finish it and get the money.
But the fact that it was hard as a rock, made it a slight failure since it was not such a good game. If I did a search in my old games magazines maybe I could find it but they are in Greece in my parent's house and I live in Sweden now, so I don't see that happening anytime soon.

| Deleted User | Phew....It's harder than I thought it would be . I think for Rpg, all you have to do is win the battle.
Yes, it is much different with adventure games.
dimidimidimi : that does makes a lot of sense in saving the game near end . They have to make a walkthrough out of it? Wow, that's even more challenging for a competition. It must have given away with a lot of money yea
