Status : Online | :There's a patch at Tex Murphy's Microsoft Site. I think it's called 1.04 patch. It worked for me when I had the same problem, but now I'm getting kicked out again at the chandalier spot later in the game. Just like you everything was going smoothly until these spots. Status : Online | Lagavulin, No I had to get a saved game from a gamer in order to finish the game. This always makes me disappoined that I missed something in the game. :-/

Status : Online | I found the solution to the crystal chandelier problem at the "Unofficial Tex Murphy Web Page". There is a forum and the suggestion was to turn off all captioning, filters and mid-mapping. Also to run the game with the XP compatibility W98 mode. You will also need the patch, but after I turned off all these options, I finished the game. Hope this works for you.

Just turning of the Midi section in options works fine
