ive got in to the bad habbit of half finishing games, but i cant stop buying them if there cheep and i always want to see how they play.
Its boring, there isn't any action at all. You walk around picking up things and using them with other items. You walk around and use the item on something. Walking around and talking to people is really lame, what about some shooting or something~APuddleduck&&

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

Faust I loved. The story concept, the music, the graphics.

I'd say the only weak point, was the built-in hint fellow, that you probably haven't put together yet, since you just started it. To me it never worked properly and I've read around the net that those who DID get it to work properly, thought it to be a major pain in the you know what.
I also like Phantasmagoria lot, only the puzzles weren't exactly it's strong point, I remember feeling. The story was creepy and the actors were convincing enough! Got a bit stressed out in the end, when there's a think-fast situation, which I usually suck at!
I'd say you're missing out choosing one over the other, try experiencing both, why don't you!

I really enjoyed most of Phantasmorgia (or however you spell or say it). The music (from Carmina Buruna or however you spell or say it, I think) was fantastic and well used as were the graphics and atmosphere. But then I am a big fan of old houses.
I found the story a bit too gruesome for my taste but the game play and the exploration aspect was great.

LOL!!! This would be a fantastic name for a porno parody of Phantasmagoria ghosts having a go at each other
I don't think the track was performed by Carl Orff's Orchestra (Carmina Burana). I know that the name was Consumite Furore but I don't rememer who performed it...

This is so interesting! I would have said that the "squemish-factor" (not saying that you are!) would rate a bit higher on Phantasmagoria! Perhaps time is playing tricks with my mind, but I felt that what was hinted in Faust was down-right spelled out in all it's glory in Phantasmagoria, made my hair stand on end! LOL! It's been a while though!
Oh, Carmina Burana! Superb! Must admit that I can't recall noticing it in Phantasmagoria...:-[ Gotta play it again some day! Thanks for telling me!

I have the game Faust, but I haven't played it yet. My only gripe with Phantas was that the girl, the main character in the game, wore stupid clothes.

Phantasmagoria was okay, it takes an extremely long time for anything to happen, but when it does it kicks off big time. I'm not a big fan of timed puzzles and the final sequence really revolted me - there's only so many times you can watch lurid close up details of heads being crushed and bodies being ripped apart before it starts to wear on the nerves (not to give too much away, but a fair warning is a good idea, as the game doesn't give you one). I have to say it caused a reaction in me, so it must have been pretty good in some ways.... won't be playing it again soon though...!

I don't know, I'd thought the preceding scenes of torture, mutilation and killing were warning enough

I get your point, but it's quite suddenly in your face at the end (literally, if we're talking about the pendulum). I suppose i'm admitting I was a much use as a wet paper bag at the end and the poor cow just kept getting slaughtered over and over again. It was a bit relentless!

Status : Offline | I had a great time Playing Phantasmagoria, wast a very hard or long game, but alot of fun, IMO Now Faust, for me that was a whole different ball game, not that it isnt a good game, but I think its probably one of the buggiest games I've ever played, > I finally had to quit in Chapter 5 or 6, I just couldnt take it anymore, I would get one thing going and then something else would go wrong, I mean I would get lucky to play for a half hour without somthing going wrong, freezing up, crashes, etc. but maybe that wont happen to you.
