In a similar area in Russian Siberia.

The last huge asteroid occurred in 1908 (as featured in "Secret Files [1] - Tunguska).

That explosion was in an uninhabited area. This recent one blew out very many windows and it is now reported that about a thousand people were injured - not seriously I tjhink; mainly by flying fragments of glass, etc.

The asteroid (or whatever its correct name is ?!) did not cause serious damage.

However I wonder if at any time in the future a VERY much bigger and more massive one could more or less obliterate a country - or for that matter shift the earth from its present orbit, with whatever consequences that would create !!

I wonder if anything can be done to obviate the above adverse phenomena ?
