It looks like they intend to release it through several digital distribution services, so I'll wait for it to be on one of those, so that I don't have my games scattered all over the place, but ASA will be high on my "to buy" list.

Even if you like only a few of the things listed above, for only about $8.22 USD (6 Euro) you certainly can't go wrong.

Wow, that's basically everything I love in an adventure game summed up nicely. I'm not sure how this game passed under my radar, but I'll defiinitely check it out.

Looks interesting... usually I know withing the first half hour if I'll stick a game through to the end... So Sunday here we go.
EDIT: Download is a clumsy process: 11 files + 1 zip file. I got a few errors on initial DL and needed to re-download 4 files. Still getting error trying to extract into a single install archive per directions. The AG begins...
EDIT2: Solved. It didn't like 7zip app, so re-installed latest winzip and everything is cool. It's VERY rare 7zip is not up to the task - much better than winzip, but at least I got it installed. Wish the DL was a single exe... ASA intro,s as beguiling as I've seen for a long time...

Game looks good and I'm jumping back in right now..

I really like the look and feel of this. For such an inexpensive game it's quite polished, yet still has indie charm. Music is very good, and the "weary" narration is a nice change from all the "gee whiz rah-rah" stuff you usually find. I'm liking it alot so far...

He just released the patch several days ago and I wonder if those who buy the game now still have to install the patch.
I am glad to hear you are liking the game so far and that there are others who are going to buy it. For a while now I thought I was the only one playing. Can't wait to hear more from you about ASA.

Adds to the melancholy, kind of "aloneness" feel of the game. I installed the patch as well, just in case. I'm having to be careful that I'm finding all the places to go. Haven't gotten used to the navigation yet.

Status : Offline | Hi everyone, thanks for your support on ASA !
I'm sure you now all know what the game is about but I added a presentation below.
But before that, I'd like to answer the question of the Patch 1.1 :
What I can say so far is that you can play the game without the patch, using the default 1.0 version. The rare bugs shouldn’t be a problem (unless you get a "3" in the random code in the Private Room, but it's quite far in the game), and the 1.1 patch is mostly here to rescue you in this precise case.
But still, it is better to install it, and yeah, I would like to share the 1.1 version of ASA as the full version instead of the 1.0
The problem is that it’s quite complicated for me to make a new compilation of the game now that it's shared. I also have a big problem : my internet connexion is so slow that it would take months for me to upload it.
So I prefer to share a patch as long as possible, and that's why I ask everyone to tell me if you have an issue, so I can update the patch...
So don't hesitate to tell me on this topic what you really think of ASA, if you meet problems, etc... I'll try to answer from time to time and I really hope you have fun with the game, and find it hard enough for you !
About indievania :
the fact that the game is split in 12 parts is not due to them, so don't go thinking indievania is bad.
I am the one who had to upload it in 12 parts, because of my bad internet connexion...
Sorry for that...

ASA is a Myst-like adventure game, even if it's first a personal experiment. It's a kind of sequel to my short film 2011: A Space Adventure, which received good reviews and was selected by the Vimeo Staff. But I would recommend you don't watch it before playing the game, or it would spoil you !
The game is available on www.aspaceadventure.fr
What is ASA ??? ASA is now a 1st-person slideshow adventure game with 3D graphisms, released on january the 7th. This is a solo project, and the game was rated 15/20 on the french magazine jeuxvideo.com Many people could tell you that ASA is very challenging !
English reviews :

http://indiestatik.com/2012/12/24/a-weekend-with-asa-a-space-adventure/
Story : "You're an astronaut sent to repair an old satellite. You just finished your mission when you notice a mysterious black cube drifting near you. You're totally hypnotized by this thing and suddenly jump in the space, breaking your security cable ! That's crazy, you seem to have forgotten all the dangers here, and when you finally catch this cube... your oxygen is low and you have no way to go back !!! But strangely, to you, the most important is that you have this Cube in your arms, and that you won't drop it until you're dead ! It now seems so important and fascinating... "
Features :
- visit 9 different environments (6 areas on the main spaceship, 2 planets, 1 satellite)
- benefits of ponctual 360° views for a better immersion.
- the game presents various 3D movies and is rythmed with an original soundtrack by Karreo.
- walk in the steps of another astronaut, who will help you to find your way. Read his diary to find clues and make the storyline evolve.

May I just say the initial images of the protagonist alone in orbit holding on to the side of a skeletal satellite are quite arresting and immediately drew me in. I also like the dreamy/quasi-3D graphic effects you achieve - many nice artistic touches. As I mentioned before, the music and voice-overs are strong and really contribute in creating the mood I think you were after. I'm in the early stages still , but congratulations on what looks to be a very fine project!

During the download, I added a new room to the house, planted some grass-seed and watched it grow several inches and got a post-graduate degree in quantum physics.
After downloading, I installed it and added the v1.1 patch which required resurrecting some (but not much, thankfully) of my long-dormant Canadian-taught french. Everything installed and ran well. I'm impressed with the opening and it looks like a game I'm going to enjoy. Since this is a one-man indie effort, the author, Simon, appears to have impressive artistic and production skills, not to mention great taste (since he was obviously influenced by the Myst games)...
Fwiw: I am running it on a Fujitsu small laptop with a relatively low-power Intel core i3 processor running at only 1.3g mHz. There is almost 2g memory. The graphics are also on the low power side: Intel onboard graphics with only 75mb dedicated memory but can share about another 400mb. The fact that the game runs (so far) pretty well is good news to me since the overall listed requirements are much higher.

The future ain't what it used to be! Last edited by SirDave : 29 JAN 2013 10:59pm

Oh good. I'm glad you decided to lift your intellectual level to a point where we can include you in our discussions .....
..... off to check out this demo...

Whaaaaaat !? You can really run the game (including 360° views) on this config ??? That's amazing news !
It's probably all thanks to the additional 400mb shared for the graphics. I really hope you don't encounter too much troubles while you play ! Please keep me informed !!!
Caroline, thanks for trying the demo !
And of course, thanks to all of you who bought the game : that's the best way to support my work ! I REALLY hope you have a good time playing ASA.

Weren't you a regular user of AM too ? I think I saw your username on the forums, while I was browsing the threads for help. You were making games with good graphisms, very artistic, with fine menus and all !
Or maybe it wasn't you

I'm working in Dagon now, but I still have a soft spot for AM and its wonderful forum members. I've only just had a chance to play ASA for about 5 minutes, but am amazed at what you've done. I hope that you have great success with it.
