Status : Offline | I do not suggest you use Strata 3D (http://www.strata.com/) for game making. It has fallen behind in the 3D market since the 90s. The product that sort of took it's place in the 3D market it Cinema 4D. It cost about $600 for the basic program. If you still want to try Strata 3D, buy it on ebay.com. You can get it for about one hundred dollars used. The main game software in use is 3ds Max of course. It cost about $3200 for the basic program. I hear you can get it for $2000 in a cross grade deal. You will then need many plug-ins to make a game.
I sent a few emails to the maker of Omega Stone when he had made his first game. He told me he was thinking of swithcing to a new 3D software at that time. This is why I made the post here. I was curious to see what he ended up using for his second game.

Status : Online | Hi All!
I can answer this directly...
With Riddle of the Sphinx we used Strata 3D. Excellent render and easy to work interface. The problem we had was working with the large environments we had - it just didn't handle them well. Plus, while the render was great, it was slow.
With ROTS II: The Omega Stone we used Cinema 4DXL. Great program - rock solid stable!! And rendering is very fast.
That said, we will have a major announcement soon that indirectly involves this thread... more to follow.

I just looked in to see if anybody had answered it, and there you are with the facts. Well, now that you are here, I have another question. How many people made the first game, and now many made the second game? I am just wondering if one person can make an Adventure Game, or does it always have to be a team.

There are plenty of endeavours being undertaken by just one or two individuals.  ark Fall, I think, was also pretty much a one-man deal, no? And durned if I can remember what it was, but there was one that was a husband 'n' wife team... methinks...
