Likely not the news you've been hoping for and certainly not the news I've been hoping for, but better than nothing.

The story of Culpa Innata is being adapted as a book trilogy. Here's the press release.

I can't be absolutely certain, but I have a feeling that we won't be seeing Culpa Innata II: Chaos Rising in game form. Chaos Rising  also happens to be the subtitle of the yet-to-be-written second book in the trilogy.

I was really hoping that, with all of the fundraising sites that have popped up recently, Momentum DMT would take advantage of one or more of them. I guess not, and that's a real shame. I don't think they would have had any trouble raising all kinds of cash with which to finish the sequel. Maybe doing so was unfeasible for some reason.

Well, at least some books are being written to carry the story forward. *sigh*

I need to go be depressed for awhile now.

That not good news

. Not disastrous news, either, but I had really high hopes for the next Culpa Innata game.

I have not yet lost all hope, not until there is an official statement that the game will not be released.

A book? Oh well, what a disappointment. I was really looking forward to playing that sequel.

But then again, if it was to be something alike Still Life 2, better having a good book than that!

I just hope Ragnar from Funcom won't do the same thing with Dreamfall 2, as I know those guys have great potential to develop a good game (and sell it well to the thirsty fans that have been waiting since 2006...).

Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)

Last Finished: can't recall, been too long.

I agree with you, Inesrocks. If it's between no sequel and a sequel the quality of Still Life 2, I'd much rather have nothing. And at least we have the first CI, which I truly love.

I remember Ragnar saying a long time ago that he promised we wouldn't have to wait as long between Dreamfall and its sequel as we did between TLJ and Dreamfall (which was seven years). Well, it's approaching seven years right now with nary a flicker of a sequel on the horizon...

I get the feeling that Ragnar is still pretty involved in The Secret World. And then there's the MMO Funcom is developing based on (get ready to cringe) Lego Minifigures. Here's a press release from last June about that.

I completely agree. Although I trust Momentum a lot more than Microids, so I don't think they'd release anything as bad as SL2. At least Momentum, as well as Ragnar, since he was mentioned, are great story tellers, so the book has potential to be really great.

The book is now available on amazon, both US and UK. I'll be ordering it soon.

Please let us know what you think of the book, Aya.

Yeah, I'd like to read some feedback on the book before I buy it. It must be interesting though, and it's always a nice way to get back to the world of Phoenix again! Are the main characters the same as in the game?
