So steam has launched its "greenlight", where the userbase will be allowed to vote on which games will be released on Steam. This was most likely in response to people criticizing steam/valve for saying no to several high quality games, and letting some utter garbage be sold (and marketed) through steam. Garbage like Revelations 2012.

In no particular order, these are the ones that I think look quite interesting

Eador. Masters of the Broken World Looks like an interesting hex based TBS, with quite nice looking graphics.

Alea Jacta Est A grand strategy game by AGEOD, set during Roman times.

The Age of Decadence A CRPG that has been in production for a long time, set during the Roman times (which is very rare for CRPGs). According to people who have played the beta, this game is supposed to be really good.

Expeditions: Conquistador Another hex based TBS. Deals with Spanish Conquistadors during the early 16th century.

Frayed Knights: The Skull of S'makh-Daon A wizardry-like CRPG. Graphics is a bit unappealing, but the gameplay is good, and the humor is not cringeworthy (in fact, it was quite funny).

Octodad: Dadliest Catch Sequel to Octodad, a hilarious (free) game about an octopus who tries to pose as a human.

Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land A cthulhu-themed SRPG, that apparently is really good.

Driftmoon While the camera perspective gives people vertigo, the devs have been good at responding to feedback in general about the game, and have reached out to different CRPG communities for input, so this one seem to have a lot of potential.

Legend of the Knightwasher I don't really know what this one is about, but I've never seen such a cute washing machine in my entire life.

*edit* Missing from the thread title: A : and a ?. I wonder why it won't display those characters.

I can't help wondering:  Why would Steam refuse certain games to be sold using it as a portal?  What has it got to lose by accepting games? ...or conversely, to gain by refusing them?

If they would allow all those games on Steam, I fear that would mean that one will not see the wood for the trees.

I regularly look at the new releases, but if there would be too much garbage i 'll lose interest and might miss some amazing games.

It's a good idea not to sell everything and only allow premium quality to be sold in your shop.

From the article "what is Steam Greenlight" this paragraph makes the most sense to me.

"With the introduction of the Steam Workshop in October 2011, we established a flexible system within Steam that organizes content and lets customers rate and leave feedback. This opened up a new opportunity to enlist the community's help as we grow Steam and, hopefully, increase the volume and quality of creative submissions."
