Many of the original developers/voice actors on board (including Charles Cecil and Rolf Saxon who voiced George).

Already up 40,000 so far of their 400k goal, hope it gets there.

I was just about to post this.

I'm so excited about it. It's just sad that these days adventure game developers have to resort to community funding to finish their projects. I really do hope that people end up supporting the developers at Revolution Software. I am about to do my own donation now.

I hope the project ends up being successsful. Guys at Revolution really work for the fans, they do take account of our opinions/criticisms. See, the new game will feature 2D like in the old times, as people were complaining about the lack of it in more recent games.

I think this funding/marketing campaign is very wise, and I see this might be the way forward for other companies struggling with finance.

If only Funcom would come up with something like this regarding Dreamfall/Longest Journey, given the amount of fans that have sticked throghout all these "empty" years...

Well, still, the game is only to be released in April 2013. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for new games to come along. I know Memento Mori 2 has been released in Germany but I have no idea when the english version will be made available. Sherlock Holmes should be on its way out soon. And Secret Files 3 (whose series I dislike a bit, but given the lack of games this year, I'll be quite happy to play).

Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)

Last Finished: can't recall, been too long.

Oh wonderful they're going back to their 2D roots

The money already funded has already doubled in 5 hours, so they'll easily reach their goal.

ps: they should hire a different voice actor for Nico though, because this one sounds horrible

Yikes! I don't see it mentioned on the page but ANY of the other four actresses who voiced Nico in the past would be an improvement.

$400K probably won't even take a week.

Cool, first really exciting Kickstarter project to come along in a little while.  Though hopefully Nico's current voice actress is just a placeholder or a temp of some sort. Other than that, it looks intriguing. They've definitely got my money.

I really like her voice.  but, I am not too picky about a voice, I usually play for the puzzles and story.

Since there's been a dearth of Adventure games lately, this is really exciting news.  And I'm glad about the 2 D.

Hi Ines!    (This silly place doesn't seem to have a waving smiley anymore)

Yes, i've been waiting for all the games you mentioned..- maybe the global economic slump is to blame for them taking so long to come out.

This is great news about Broken Sword. I've made my pledge.  The voice actress for Nico is using a very thick accent.  I could not understand what she said.  If she continues in this role, hopefully there will be subtitles.

Hey there Sharon! Long time no see.  I like your new avatar.  So are you also playing Skyrim these days?

Hi Trav, - I'm not able to play Skyrim on my PC so I bought an Xbox for it.  Yes, I have the game.  No, I'm not yet playing it. I did try it briefly.  I'm not one to jump right into a game. Usually.  I like to think about it for a while (years!).

The game is beautiful and I see that a lot of decisions have to be made just to create an avatar.  I'm not sure what prevents me from just starting it.  I'm a little intimidated.

I joined Gamefly for a trial period.  I needed to download something that required a membership.  They sent me Witcher 2 which I thought I would try out briefly.  Have not started that either, yet...

At this point in my gaming I've gotten totally addicted to casual games.  Am spending lots of money at Big Fish! for IHOGs.  Some are great! Others can be frustrating.  Big Finish has created some wonderful IHogs - 3 Cards to Midnight, 3 Cards to Death.  I'm currently playing Escape from Thunder Mountain by them.  Unfortunately, they've turned collecting all the puzzle pieces scattered throughout each scene into a requirement to complete the puzzle at the end of the episode.  I say unfortunately, because I can't always find every last puzzle piece.  Therefore I have to rely on a walkthru to help me locate the missing one.  It's not easy, even with the walkthru because there are so many of them.  Anyway I'm stuck and frustrated at this point. Missing 2 pieces for Episode 4.

Say, I know what would take my mind off it!  A nice game of Skyrim...

Hey Sharon, you should just jump into Skyrim - close your eyes with one hand and your nose with the other, and jump in the deep end!

Don't worry, choosing an avatar at the beginning has less consequences than it has in Morrowind or Oblivion, since you can change you birthstone and things like that ingame.  (Oops, sorry, this is the wrong thread to discuss that, i guess).

As for Big Fish, yes their casual adventures like  the Drawn series and  The Witch's Prison are indeed lovely!

I've never played any of the Broken Sword series but judging the popularity I'm going to have to try it.

I'll second that!!!

They're the best. I know the last two haven't been very well-received, but to me they're like the Gabriel Knight games. I am willing to overlook any flaws in gameplay (and even storyline) in exchange for spending a few hours with George and Nico.

Yes, Broken Sword is a great series. A classic for a reason.  To me, the 1st one (Circle of Blood/Shadow of the Templars) was the best and prettiest.  But perhaps your first is always your favorite as it introduces you to a different world.  I've played The Smoking Mirror and Sleeping Dragon as well.

I was surprised to find I really liked Sleeping Dragon.  I had heard there were action sequences in the game (which I really hate in adventure games), and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do the action scenes, but it turned out to be really fun and with some perserverence and no real frustration I was able to do them.  And I actually enjoyed the crate puzzles.  I don't know what that says about me.

I haven't yet played Angel of Death.  I've installed it and played to Spoiler Alertstanding on the ledge outside the building, but that's as far as I've gone so far.  I'm really good at procrastinating!

I enjoyed Sleeping Dragon too. My main issue wasn't necessarily with the actions sequences themselves but the fact that they were too many of them.

By the end of the game I remember getting a bit frustrated- it was starting to be too repetitive.

Tim Schafer's (Double Fine):

I love seeing the insider videos, great stuff.

Sad how the publishers keep the really neat stuff from seeing the light of day. It's pretty cool getting to help a great company make the games I want.

The personal video from Charles was awesome
