I know  that it's not for a few hours yet in USA - but here, it's already July 4th - CONGRATULATIONS !!

One of our 11 grandchildren is married to an ex USA Marine and now lives in New Jersey with him and hi

their 4 year old daughter, He is now a History teacher just finishing his M.A. at Columbia University..

SHE  WAS BORN (in Israel) on JULY 4th  33 years ago !!

SO _ HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALSO NO'A !!

I just heard on our news that due to the recent storms  there are power cuts in the east coast.

To compound the troubls, the heat wave following has brought temperatures reaching around 40 degrees Celsius - which is **EXTREMELY** hot !!

NOT FAIR FOR THOSE TRYING TO CELEBRATYE INDEPENDENCE - SORRY !!

Thanks, Len!  We're okay here, but they did lose power for a while on the other side of our street and further south of us last night.

If it's still anywhere near 40 Celsius (Centigrade) - for those who have no electricity, it must be VERY uncomfortable.

It's now mid summer and here in Haifa on top of Mount Carmel it generally doesn't get above about  39 degrees - and since we are lucky in havinmg a cool apartment, we don't generally have to operate our air conditioner (althouh it DOES get humid being on the coast of the Mediterranean - with a BEE_UTIFL view )

Buit in Eilat, at the southern tip of Israel it is around 40 degrees all summer !.

Hoppe you are all getting by - America seems to have so many disasters - hurricanes, typhoomns, tornados, floods, forest fires, etc.

I often think that the original fouders/pioneers of USA must have been VERY hardy folk !!!

 This heat reminds me why I just dont get on well with summer. We have mostly been hibernating here. Usually on the 4th the street is filled with festivities but I noticed today, though there are alot of cars parked around here most people are inside

where its more comfortable. I go out here and there but its like being in an oven.
