Many years ago, I created an adventure game (two of them actually) using some freeware called Adventure Maker. Since I don't have computer graphics skills, I used photographs as my clickable images (kind of like that game "A Quiet Weekend in Capri"). I am thinking about makng another game, and am seeking suggestions for the best software for an amateur (I don't know how to write computer code) to use for this endeavor.
I could do the 'photograph' paradigm again, but if there are game creation platforms that come with an arsenal of pre-rendered images/items, I'd be very interested in that as well. I saw FPS Creator, which looks awesome, but it is...as the name suggests...more aimed at the first person shooter market. I am more interested in a Myst style adventure game...less shooting, more solving.
Any help/recommendations would be much appreciated!

P.S. Playing Zork Grand Inquisitor now. Somehow missed it the first time around, though I did play Zork Nemesis when it came out. Great fun.
