Topic: Press Release: Meet the Experts Web Chat Schedule Announced
June 15, 2012 - Leamington Spa, UK - Following the success of its recent Meet the Programmers event, Blitz Games Studios is pleased to announce the schedule for the next six months of Meet the Experts web chats.
The discipline-specific web chats will be held on the last Monday of each month, starting at 6:30pm and lasting for approximately one hour. The schedule is as follows:
Monday 25th June – Meet the Artists
Monday 30th July – Meet the Designers
Tuesday 28th August (due to Bank Holiday Monday) – Meet the Audio Team
Monday 24th September – Meet the Animators
Monday 29th October – Battle of the Programmers: Tech vs. Game
The next web chat in the series, on Monday 25th June, will see experienced artists from the company’s R & D and game development teams sharing their knowledge on a variety of topics aimed at aspiring newcomers to the industry.
“The title of artist is now considered to be a very broad description of a complex creative job role,” says Art Manager Scott Davidson. “As the industry has matured, artists have become more specialised in niche areas of game art, leading to a huge variety of roles that they can fulfil, from the Technical Artist who bridges the gap between art and programming, to the more traditionally skilled Concept Artist. In the Meet the Artists web chat we’ll be looking at a broad range of roles, although regardless of the specialism, the core skills required remain the same; a general grounding in traditional art is absolutely paramount.”
Blitz Games Studios is actively recruiting across all disciplines and for projects targeting a variety of new and upcoming platforms. Full details of all current vacancies are available on the Studio’s careers website: http://www.blitzgamesstudios.com/careers/
