ABOUT AAMFP
While Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is related to Amnesia: The Dark Descent, it doesn't represent a sequel.
As stated in a joystiq article:
"It's not a direct sequel, in terms of it doesn't follow on from the story of Amnesia. It doesn't involve the same characters," Dear Esther writer Dan Pinchbeck told me. Instead, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs will be set in the same "alternate history and set in the same universe." In short, the game will look to scare your pants off.
According to the official website:
"The year is 1899. Wealthy industrialist Oswald Mandus has returned home from a disastrous expedition to Mexico, which has ended in tragedy. Wracked by fever, haunted by dreams of a dark machine, he recovers consciousness in his own bed, with no idea of how much time has passed since his last memory. As he struggles to his feet, somewhere beneath him, an engine splutters, coughs, roars into life..."
AAMFP is a product of Frictional Games and thechineseroom. It's to be released this Fall.
