Today, The Huffington Post has reported that 38 Studios, a video game company founded by former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schlling, has violated labor laws by laying off its entire workforce yesterday without notifying the State of Rhode Island.
Further, questions emerged concerning whether proper oversight of the $75 million loan guarantee has been performed by the state Economic Development Corporation board.
Gov. Lincoln Chafee is seeking an audit of the funds received by the company -- all of which have been spent -- to determine how they were used. He predicts "many lawsuits."
