If I ever came across one of these things face-to-face, I think I'd have a heart attack.

Close encounters of the blobby kind!   Very strange!

I watched the whole thing and didn't see hide nor hair of Steve McQueen.  Maybe The Blob really did eat him?

I like it because it's organic.

Totally fascinating, watching it undulate so gracefully at an approximate depth in excess of 5,000 feet, playing up to the light that it may have never seen so brightly.

Sigh.

Now it is unfurling its blankets of protoplasm, slowly turning itself inside out, and ...

What's this?! Some sort of whitish nodes that were hidden before.

Let's get a closer look:

GAH! OMG!

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!

We will be eaten. So sad.

Oooo... a nice, big, undulating, gelatinous sea mass to play with.

Better than Silly Putty. Maybe even better than Flubber.

And they say nothing good came of the BP oil spill.

Cheers, Terry

Oo! Oo! Terty! I just thought of a New! verb.

"Cthulhulating"

i.e.: "The sea orb was cthulhulating now, spreading bone-chilling horror amongst the gentle fishermen and fisherwomen tribes in the land that time forgot... Adelaide."

Yeah. Killer Silly Putty.

Maybe if Flubber was real... but it ain't.

I've quite enjoyed the New! cuisine it has wrought.

You haven't lived if you haven't tried the Tern-headed Land Squid. It has a wonderful ducky flavor, and it's guaranteed never to slide off your plate while you're eating it.

Sticks to your ribs, too. That's some good, healthy eatin' right there.

I think cthulhulating is a marvelous word, Mark, but it does have a tendency to fling dentures across the room if said to quickly.

Unfortunately, no one is aware how serious this is. That word is pure Nabuhitian and it means that finally they have infiltrated this forum. Of course, we've known for some time that Mark was drinking the KoolAid. It was only a matter of time before he drank the (Nabuhitian) tea.

Now I come to think about it sensibly, when I met Mark I thought then that he was like no other human being I'd ever met..... hmmm.... and he did vanish a couple of times in Disneyland without explanation.....

I've heard that Nabuhitian tea is quite tasty.  I wouldn't know that from experience of course.

Are you sure that Mark just wasn't visiting the Gents, Caroline, from consuming all those liquids?

Oh, not at all, Lady K.

While Caroline and her hubby and boys were marveling at how the toilets flush backwards in Anaheim...

... I relieved myself in Pooh's Hunny Pot.

No lines. No waiting.

And then it was off to The Matterhorn!

I wonder if all those backwards-flushing toilets caused The Blob to happen?

Caroline, I edited your post so my avatar would display as an image rather than code.

Why is my avatar different? Because my original custom one had been rescaled by the system from its proper size and ended up distorted and out-of-focus. I was really tired of looking at it that way. (All avatars are automatically rescaled to 100x100 no matter what their original dimensions.)

But when I tried to change it to another one I made, the system dumped the existing one and wouldn't accept the new one. I was left to either choose one from the array offered by the system, or to exist as a question mark.

BTW...For some reason, the avatars the system offers keep changing. I found the one in question among them. It's somewhat similar to the stuff I create, so I'm using it until a time ever comes that the custom avatar function will actually work. Or until the avatars change again and I end up a question mark anyway.

I'm just happy you weren't screaming in terror at the Enterprise crew trying to play rock'n'roll. They really don't sound too bad.

Karla

Since the recent changes it's become really difficult to get images to display as easily as they used to.  What should I be doing?
