Topic: Press Release: Gamescom 2012 Expands Its Range Of Exhibits
More dedicated space for Mobile Gaming following the "Online World"
Part of Hall 10.1. for hardware and software providers in the Mobile Gaming segment
Among others, mobile and multi-platform gaming trend themes in 2012
Large presentations + terminal park for small companies and studios
This year Gamescom, the leading event and entertainment highlight for interactive games, will once again be covering every area of the international interactive entertainment industry: top-class family entertainment, casual gaming and intensive gaming, from current highlights in console and PC gaming through to online and browser games to multi-platform and mobile gaming. This year, for the first time, Gamescom will be providing the dynamic market segment of mobile gaming with its own domain as part of Hall 10.1. Arranged similarly to the successful "Online World," hardware and software providers active in mobile gaming will be using the "Mobile Gamesworld" to present their products and latest developments. Tim Endres, Project Manager of Gamescom, comments: "We and our partners share the opinion that with the 'Mobile Gamesworld' we are once again in tune with current market developments. Mobile gaming content, be it on handheld consoles, tablet PCs or smartphones, is most definitely the flavour of the day."
With the "Mobile Gamesworld," Koelnmesse along with the German Federal Association of Interactive Entertainment Software (BIU) is expanding the comprehensive range of offerings to include an additional segment, Mobile Entertainment.
Terminal park for smaller companies Visitors to Gamescom 2012 will have the opportunity to experience cross-platform and truly multimedia gaming in the Koelnmesse halls. In addition to large-scale presentation and exhibition options, the "Mobile Gamesworld" located in parts of Hall 10.1. also offers a terminal park to give small and medium-sized companies and developer studios the opportunity to present their games to the huge gaming community - live and on location. Developers whose games get lost in the immeasurable mass of games in the App Store have the opportunity to make a more lasting impression in the "Mobile Gamesworld" by presenting their games to the target group and collecting live feedback. At Gamescom, companies and studios have the opportunity to set themselves apart from the thousands of games offered in various app stores and present themselves to hundreds of thousands of visitors as well as the media. "It's a real benefit and an exciting approach to presenting products," says Tim Endres, Project Manager of Gamescom.
