Small update, I know about as much now as I did the last one.

Went to a specialist and he did a fine needle biopsy , waiting for the tests and supposed to call in tomorrow so then I'll know i fit's cancer or not (hopefully, it can be inconclusive as well).

One slight thing is that when the doctor did the biopsy some old blood came out into the needle and he said that was a good sight, that it can be a cyst that fills with blood or something (can still be cancerous though).

He said I am still likely looking at having a surgery, even if it is, because of how big it is (pushing on my other neck oragans). However he said he might only have to take out part of it and not the entire thyroid and I mighti not have to be on hormones for the rest of my life (and potentially calicum if the things connected to it have to come out too).

Well good news, I just got off the phone with my doc and he said that the test results came back and it was not cancerous, just benign

HE still recommends surgery to have it removed but it isn't something tihat's a medical emergency or life threatning, thank God.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and everything, it helped.

I'm so glad the news is good, Stiler!  What a relief that must be!  At least now you can consider your options without the big C looming over you.

What a truly splendid result for you Stiler.  Ah.... the stress has just melted away now hasn't it?  Life's looking good and somehow if you do end up on tablets you won't mind at all.

That's WONDERFUL news Stiler.

I'm **SO** pleased for you !

Cancer is a terrible affliction (even though a minority manage to beat it)

My sister, my only sibling, died of ovarian cancer 46 years ago when she only 33 - and it was a nasty death !

She left behind 3 very young dauaghters the youngest of whom died of the same thing a few years ago aged only 50 !

There were additional troubles when my sister's husband abandoned their 3 young daughters , We looked after them - but but it was still quite a fragedy ! !

3 other members of our fairly close family also succumbed to cancer !!!

The **MUST** eventually be a cure !

What an world we live in !

If a thousandth part of the astronomical sums of money we all spend on armaments and weapons of destruction to say nothing of the financial (& human) loss caused by them were all poured into concentrated research - we could probably beat it !!!

Sorry to hear about your sister Len. Cancer is indeed one of the worst ways to go, lost my grandmother (moms side) and my great aunt (fathers side) to it. Would hope we'd find a cure for it sometime, such a terrible disease.

Stiler, that's wonderful - I'm very glad to read it!  I hope that the surgery goes well, swiftly and without untoward incident or complication, whenever you come to have it.  ^_^

Len, I'm truly sorry to read of the troubles in your family; for what it's worth, I do think that there are people working on treating cancer, and think that they may be making some progress on it, although my memory is failing me somewhat on the specifics (it was by no means a cure yet, I don't think; more likely a promising avenue).

MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

*ahem*

Sorry.

Well, what wonderful news I found when I checked into JA today!  So relieved to hear that you're basically going to be okay, Stiler!

Thanks for letting us know, and I hope it turns out fine.

Stiler: I don't know you very well but I'm pleased to hear you made it through all those grueling tests and the results were benign. Maybe I'll get to know you a little better around here, like I know others.

Nice people, like Terry, Lady K., SirDave, Colpet, Trav, Len, and then there's that other person I can't seem to remember.

Ah, well. Her reputation precedes her.
