Status : Offline | You mean like Indiana Jones and the faith of Atlantis? Lucas arts (the company behind that game) made quite a few adventure games. You might want to check out The Dig or Full Throttle if you want something relatively similar.
Are you looking for something that storywise or gameplaywise is similar to Indiana Jones? Or just something in the same genre? Two standard recommendations of good games for people relatively new to the genre are The Longest Journey and Syberia. Neither game is too hard, but they have some interesting puzzles and great stories.

Status : Offline | [size= small]Hey Fnord, I am looking for something which is similar game wise, with lots of quests, hidden triggers and access doors, traps etc. that you have to solve to proceed in the game. I have played all the Indiana Jones games, but did not know about the other Lucas Arts games you mention. Will surly check them. But if you have more recommendations, I would appreciate it.

The big difference with Indiana jones is that those are played in first person, you're not moving around an avatar and there's almost no conversation with other people involved.

Apart from the above mentioned games, you might want to check out Lucas Arts more humorous entries, like Sam & Max or Monkey Island. There are also a few contemporary games from other companies worth checking out, like Gabriel Knight. Towards the end of the 90's we got gems like Broken Sword 1 & 2, which are often considered must plays by experienced adventure gamers. Not the hardest games out there, but they are very good.
And for some more modern games: Frogware's Sherlock Holmes series is very good (apart from their first game, Mystery of the Mummy, also avoid The Mystery of the Persian Carpet, it is not an adventure game, but rather a so called "hidden object game").
Also, if you can find it, then I would recommend Shadowgate, it is a game that I'm very fond of.

Syberia I/II
Gabriel Knight series
The Longest Journey
Grim Fandango
FUll Throttle
Monkey Island series
Most of these are available on gog.com for cheap digitally, also the Monkey Island games (I and II) had a recent HD remake to them as well as the first Broken Sword game.
I think if you liked Indiana Jones you'll really love the Broken Sword series.

I thoroughly endorse every on of the games recommended by Stiler above.
Some are VERY old and the others are just old - but every one without exception was an A rated game (A+; A; or A-).
For more recent games which should run with greater ease on recent computers and of course have im-proved graphics are :-
"Secret Files" series
"Runaway" series (I enjoyed the oldest #1 best !)
