Status : Offline | If I recall correctly what I heard in the update that announced the mysterious new project, said project is:
A) Backed by a publisher
B) A third-person adventure
C) A "dark mystery" of a type likely to be associated with Jane Jensen's work
D) Something that those interested in Jane Jensen's work are likely to be "excited about"
... I'm hesitant to get hopes up, but dare I wonder whether it might be a new Gabriel Knight game...? I'll confess that I'm rather excited by that prospect...
Of course, it could well be something else entirely. Perhaps it's Gray Matter 2, or some new property that we haven't yet been introduced to.
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
*ahem*
Sorry.

Hmm... That is possible.
If I recall correctly, the given reason for not sharing more information on the mystery game was a desire to have something to show before doing so - I get the impression that they don't even have much art ready yet. I could see that being a plausible motive in both the cases of a new Gabriel Knight game and a remake.

My understanding is that the reason that she has been blocked from using Gabriel Knight is because the publisher holds the IP; if the publisher in this case is that publisher (Activision, I think that it may have been), then it's possible that they've worked out a deal that allows her to work with the Gabriel Knight IP again.

""I have talked to them again recently," Jensen says, "and I think there's a good chance that it's going to work out. It's not going to be ..." She pauses, weighing her words. "I think there's a good chance that we'll be doing something with Gabriel Knight in the future." There's the hint of a smile in her tone. "Just give it a month or two.""

Status : Offline | Okay, Jane Jensen's going to do a game about an antiques dealer who becomes a detective and a second game that might be a GK game.... sounds almost too good to be true. Anyway, it's enough to make me join the kickstart. Looks like a lot of other people are getting in under the wire too. Got my fingers crossed. We need more good games.

And better yet for me (since I'm currently using Ubuntu - a Linux derivative - as my operating system), if I'm not much mistaken a Linux version is now planned for Moebius as a result of having passed one of the additional milestones added.
