I don't think she'd mind as long as you weren't creepy about it hah.

I was going to say almost the same thing but you forestalled me !
She is indeed a most brilliant story teller and game developer and I take my hat off to her !
Even "Grey Matter" with all its shortcomings was a vast cut above most other games today.

The reason must be that the counter uses local computer time instead of the server's. Rather stupid of them.
Anyway, the secret is already out. Last night, all pages at Jane's Pinkerton page were visible for a short while. Rather stupid of them.

See http://www.justadventure.com/news/136/news-a-year-of-adventure-with-master-storyteller-jane-jensen for a news item and http://www.justadventure.com/forums/posts.asp?t=24066 for a corresponding forum post.

AFAIK she has produced one or more of the latter recently - I don't play them so I don't know anything about them.
i,e, Will "Grey Matter 3" be a full length adventure sequel to #1 ???

From the Kickstarter page:
What kinds of adventure games will they be? Hard? Casual?
Our plan is to have a "casual" and a "true adventure" option at the start of the game. This will allow us to provide an easier path through for those who are not hard-core players -- while allowing our 'true adventure' path to be uncompromised (and by uncompromised we mean classic Sierra-style puzzles). We're looking forward to beta-testing with our CSG members and tuning the game.

I'd really like to see this "Community Supported Gaming" concept take off, I think; while I'd want to think more on what it offers to the "community" in question, it seems as though, if sufficiently backed, it could be a great boon for developers.
As to the games themselves, I very much enjoyed Gray Matter, so another game in that series (and continuing the story of the first, it seems) is very appealing, and the description given for Moebius very much catches my attention. One can hope that they get to make both at some stage...
And yes, I'm a little excited by the suggestion that this taking off might improve the probability of a new Gabriel Knight game appearing at some stage...
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
*ahem*
Sorry.

That's bad. That means the games will almost certainly be designed as "story + puzzles", which always turns out badly.

I totally agree in letting people decide whether they want the easier or more challenging experience. That said, I really hope I won´t have to find any bloody hidden objects!
Are you people contributing? If you do, how much do you intend to pledge? I am still torn between tiers

Thats exactly what she is planning to release: full-length (GK1) adventure games! If you want more games like GK or a gray matter sequel, the kickstarter project is the best chance we got. Finally we will get a game where everything is under Janes control: no compromises! And she will retain all the rights so no more delays with sequels. I can't see how any Jane Jensen fan would not want to support that

The voting for which game to make has been pushed forward (so people willhelp fund more if they know which game she'll be making).
If you want a new Gabriel Knight game from Jane, you NEED to help fund this. If the kickstarter is a success and sells enough she alreay talks about wanting to buy the rights to GK back, but that takes cold hard cash.

Sorry - but not clear for me.
If the Kickstarter is in order to develop another Jane Jensen FABULOUS full scale Quest/Adventure ONLY (similar to her 3 brilliant Gabriel Knight's, or even Gray Matter) - then I'm personally in FULL support for whatever it takes !!!
If there is ***ANYTHING*** whatsoever to do with casual games -- I take a rain check !!!

When I receive that OFFICIALLY, I'll fully support the project - but not before then !
