The Steam sale is here?!? Oh, the humanity! Excuse me, I have to go cloister myself in a monastery or something for the next two weeks or so.

LOL, yes a monastery might be a good solution. Sadly, upon checking the local yellow pages for availability I can scratch off that option.

Day 1

Interest Level of Titles Offered: Low

Games Purchased: None

Let them save the best for last to crack open my wallet.

Not only do they deprive you of your money, they're also want to mess with your sleep.

Good thing I stayed up late last night, otherwise i would have missed the 8 hour sale on Saint's Row 3 (-75%).

The poll for which specific game sale you want to see next is a brilliant marketing strategy, you do less sales but still keep people happy

It is a shame that they have no "activities" this time around. I actually enjoyed the added things that you could do during the last winter sale (and the summer sale before that). The devs added some minor things to the games that went on sale, and added an achievement that you could get for doing those. Those achievements could then net you some other things (and I was quite lucky during the winter sale and got 2 games, PAYDAY: The Heist & Capsized)

They're doing something similar with the badges this time around.

But for some reason they've hidden them on your profile page, check the right column for badges.

Nothing game specific though

All the badges (thus far) have been general steam things, like vote for things & buying games on sale. And there are no rewards for doing so either, other than a badge.

It would seem like the Steam flash sales are just for games that will be on daily deals anyway. Plenty of the games that have shown up on flash sales have also been on daily deals thus far.

And I seem to be on the verge of overspending. Just bought the New Vegas DLC (well, I actually bought the ulimate edition, which was cheaper than buying the DLC separately).

Good tip, Stiler.

That even beats The Witcher 2: Enhanced deal I got this past weekend for $15.99 at Steam.

That sure is a good price with all the proceeds going to the right place.

Still, I won't ever regret paying the full price.

It is actually cheaper (at least in the EU1 price-zone) to buy Risen 1 and the Risen 2 collection separately than to buy the collection that contains both Risen 1 & 2+dlc.

I am desperate to buy Risen. i haven't played it  i don't even know what game i could compare it to? I do know however it was apparently a very underrated game. slipped right under the radar for most. I have no money right now though

Any games you can compare it to?
