The Old Grumpy One (sometimes called Mark but often not called at all.... ) has asked me to reassure everyone here that he hates you all equally. But especially me.
He's far too busy to come here himself..... actually he was attending his own rather gargantuan, self indulgent orgy...er.... birthday party when he was taken to hospital with breathing difficulties..... smoke inhalation I think it was. Anyway, as soon as he's found a way to crack his neighbour's password and piggyback onto his wifi I'm sure he'll return to insult you all personally.
Oh, and he said not to expect a piece of his birthday cake - it was water damaged by the firefighters.

He was a little grumpy about his special day being trumped by some fat guy in a red suit too.
Of well, I hope our adventure-gaming Mark had a wonderfully happy b-day and a festively merry xmas.... even if the presents sucked.
Cheers, Terry

I'm a bit late to the party, but I hope you had a good one, and that the hangover on the 3rd of Jan wasn't too bad...

Actually now I think about it, it's probably in June and he's just making this all up to be grumpy and get our sympathy.
Most likely he's even 10 years older than he lets on .....

Almost, Caroline. It was the 27th.
Sorry for the delayed "Thank you" from me (TraumaSurge, Happy Birthday to you!). Caroline's cake was marvelous. After all the candles had melted, it made a wonderfully smooth and colourful cake.
Has anyone of you ever taken the wax off a round of gouda cheese? This was sorta like that - in order to get to the cake. The super-smooth melted candles reminded me of Alkis' wedding cake, except one could actually eat Alkis' beautiful cake. Remember Alkis' wedding pictures? That cake was so slick. I'll bet it tasted delicious. [nom, nom]
Helen: *another* Bobo picture. Thank you! (for nothin')
Trav: It wasn't the "close to Christmas"-birthday thing that bothered me. My Mama (and Daddy, but mostly Mama) always went out of her way to keep them separate ('til I was about six. Once, she took me to see Disney's version of "Sleeping Beauty" (1959) on my birthday. It had just been released and of course it was the most expensive Disney animated film at that time.
Lucien: Oh, that's nice. A Happy Birthday on a Stop/Yield/I forget what-kind-of-sign sign. Fingered by Homer, no less. D'oh!
Terry: I think having a birthday a few days before Christmas is worse than having a birthday within a few days after. The rationale was if Christmas didn't produce the goods, there was ample time to lay on the guilt before my mandatory fabulous birthday. It didn't last long. A few early years, and that was it.
But in my youthful dotage, the little thing I miss the most was going to my Profile and seeing that little cake .gif sitting there. In fact, one day I was checking out Caroline's Profile for some reason and that little cake was just sitting there. It was Caroline's birthday!
So, thank you all ever so. I miss the damn Profile cake, y'all. It ain't in da smilies no mo'.
Who else really has a birthday about now? Andromus? Is it is or is it ain't your birthday? And Requiem? You're the Administrator fixing all these things... and it's your birthday? Go have a cupcake.

So, your cake was caked in wax? No need to wax on about it - although it probably did help to wax off.
Indeed, I too had better be off after those puns...

You mean your not supposed to eat that part - oh, God... maybe that's why I'm feeling so bloated.

Sigh, I missed naming you in the other birthday thread, Thauma, so happy unbirthday to you as well. I'll even give you your own cake. with a cup of ale to wash it down.
Since you're so on about it, dont you think those puns are a bit off?
