Status : Offline | I'm somewhat late to the thread, but I would like to say that I think that I rather like the new main page: it seems rather more legible to me, and to flow rather better, than did the old.
I'll confess to not be terribly enamoured of the blue colour scheme applied to this site - perhaps I associate blue with technology and the future, and either adventure games or this community (on reflection, perhaps more likely the latter) with a sort of golden-afternoon feeling, and thus with the sandy colours that typified the old look. Then again, I may simply be falling to a bias towards the state in which the forums were over the changed state.
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Not only do I have to log in every time I visit (way to go of curing me of making quick visits) but when I tried to contact someone from the link on the support page - after logging on btw - it told me I wasn't logged on and directed me to the FAQs. Who do I have to murder around here?

These problems only affect those with a post-count exceeding 16000!

ROFL -please, please just humor me with a little experiment and try logging in ONCE with Firefox? Then leave Firefox open and see if you have still have to log in every time that you browse through JA. I just stay logged in*, yay for Firefox!
*or it could be that the staff discovered their mistake and they're giving the rest of us a chance to gain on Caroline...

The old site was always white and light blue in color when I visited. Now the forum is XP-blue on a navy blue or blue-smudged background.
Are you sure you weren't using an option in your JA+ personal settings that loaded a sandy color scheme? The white and light blue was the default.
I don't like the new JA+ homepage because it's sluggish in Firefox on my iMac. It's the only adventure site homepage that has this problem.

(And thank you for pointing that out, by the way. ^_^)
Hum. Perhaps the darker blue is just a little cold for my perception of this forum, then. (Or, again, it might be bias towards the state that has saliency in my mind.)
(I wonder where I got that sandy colour from, then - perhaps another forum, or some other site entirely?)

This must be the new site that Karla mentioned in her thread up top there.

Some of the styles may be cached in your browser and so not show the new design properly.
If you have any issues, just let us know!

And yay, we seem to have more user-friendly emoticons close at hand now. Spoiler AlertLet's check if the spoiler tags work.
..and pics.. mmm sadly the "upload images" function doesn't seem to be working anymore, I hope this will be fixed sometime soon?

Using IE9, I hit CTRL-F5 and it fixed everything.
Perhaps clearing one's cache is the fix for the wanky fields and horizontal/vertical screw-ups.
Now, if we could do something about that "XP blue" that Jenny100 mentions. It seemed much easier on the eyes to have less contrast between the fields. The color scheme when you want to "Reply" is much lighter and more pleasant.

Status : Offline | As someone who has just joined & my first post, I will give my observations of the site.
I have looked at this site on & off for many years & although it has been good, one of my pet peeves was the slowness of loading pages, & the fact it would open new screens all the time, which is a personal annoyance. Happily both these issues seem to be a thing of the past & the site although simple looking in nature does its job, & a big improvement all round. I probably made the mistake of joining just before the new year & hadn't realised all these issues, which explains why it wouldn't set me up properly for days, but I seem to be set up properly now.
One thing I have noticed, & know it is either a general problem or mine, is that if you enter any of the forums the only threads are on the first page, & even though some have thousands they have all disappeared, well at least mine have, & I have got it to show all dates. Any ideas, as I was looking forward to reading things that had been posted previously.
I hadn't come on here to moan though & am sure any issues will be sorted shortly, & hopefully talk about adventure issues.

Oh no... not again! You're right, Zorkman, all our older threads seem to have gone missing in transition yet AGAIN...
..at least some things are improving, but we do treasure some of our older threads...
Oh, and nice that you have decided to join, even though it seems to be in a most chaotic time.

and the glitches were back when i logged in, i do hope one doesn't have to refresh each time they log in ?
Quite frequently i get an error like this when i want to see the latest post, like in this topic for example.
Anyone else having this problem?

On the downside, if your avatar is still hosted at the old limit of 75 x 75 on your chosen photo storage site you may want to sharpen it up with a larger image if your original is at least 100 x 100.
One last thing. I tried using the smilies to the left of the text field but when I do it appears to jump to the beginning of the reply and all the text becomes very small.
I keep trying to fix this but it just gets worse. :/

The old Quandaryland site maybe?

EDIT: It doesn't show up to p24 for me, let's see if anyone else "sees" this post.
yes, i can see your post and i can go to pages 23 and 24.
I'm using chrome again as a browser, apart from the fact that i have to hit refresh when the lay-out is messed up, everything seems to work fine now.
edit: i see the problem now, the latest pages aren't visible when you look at a subsection. In other games this thread only seems to have 23 pages, and 'What games other than AGs are you playing? ' 8, while there are actually 9
