Is anyone else playing this/plan to?

I go in yesterday with the early access.  I never got play in the beta, I only got in the very last weekend (when Skyrim came out....which I wasn't gonna stop playing then lol) so I'm starting fresh from here.

So far I'm enjoying the game. I was a bit apprehensive about the  graphics/art style, but with everything cranked up, shadows to full, etc it looks ok (Still woulda prefered a more realistic art style though).

I didn't think I'd like it that much, since I'm a bit tired of mmo's that do the same thing over, and over, and over. However with bringing the story to the forefront I find myself actually listening to all the cutscenes and gtting involved in what's going on. In Most mmo's I just skip all the quests dialogue, because it's suually just cheap written text masking your mundane "kill x a number of times" quest. Swtor still has these kinds of quests, but they are usually side-quests and een then all are fully voiced and at least interesting in some way.  Usually though when you do quests, the "kill x number o fenemies" is merely a bonus, on top of your quest objective, so you don't HAVE to do it an dcan just rush tot he storyo/ignore it (it gives you bonus exp if you do them).

The combat so far has been my biggest disappointment. I kind of expected it to be, I mean it's not BAD, it just doesn't feel to me what I think of when I think "Star wars." It's very much like KOTOR (which was a great game) but it just feels a bit weird how stationary things are, for now at least. If you don't mind that style of combat then it's fine.

The group missions are quite fun. I've not done many but so far they seem very well written and keep things interesting. It feels a lot more story/cinematic then usual mmo qests, where you just get a simple dialog box to do the dungeon, and then you go in and kill EVERYTHINg. There's actual dialog through, events that happen, it feels VERY Star Wars like and fits great. So far the group quests have ben my favorite part of the game.

PVP, I haven't tried yet. I am only 11 atm but plan to do some pvp soon. It's one of the main things I'm looking forward to, just want to hit 13 for the sprint ability.

I say, if you like Star Wars, you'll like the game. If you like mmo's, you'll like it. IF you are a bit tired of them you might NOT like it, but if you can look past the combat and the few "kill x/fetch" sidequests, you'll still enjoy it as well.

If anyone here is playing/goingo to, My name is Stiler on The Fatman server (lol I didn't pick it, just some other people that i play with  did), It's a pvp server.

Here's a pic of my character on coruscant.

Cool Stiller, i was wondering how that was going, i got beta invites but my computer according to the installer did not have enough cores and i did not have the energy to fight aobut it as it has two which is plenty to play every other game i try.

i had wondered how they did the style, many of us in the community were concerned it would look too "cartoony" but maybe it is ok, can you share some more pics? have you found your personal space ship yet? supposedly everyone gets one. that sounded interesting but it may just be a cut scene thing like in Mass Effect where you dont realy "fly" the ship in real space.

I am very sorry to hear about the combat, i HATED The icon controled combat in KoTOR both of them, it was a dumb and idiotic way to do that and a total waste of the players time and totally broke immersion. I have no idea why they did such a stupid method when even back then there were fantastic 3D engines around.....just take a look at the 3D engine in Mafia I....and in the Hidden and Dangerous series by the same company....SW deserved better and still does. That sounds like a sad cop out again.

keep us posted, i am always interested in new things and this has been very much hyped in the SW community.... supposedly Lucas Arts is working on a new open world game it could be another SW game but no word yet. Have fun and may the Force continue to be with you .
