Buying various bundles on Steam has left me with several extra games, so I've decided to do a series of contests here to give them away. Nothing fancy, I'll probably do a simple trivia question for some, and maybe a drawing for others.

The games are:

Braid

World of Goo

VVVVVV

Bit.trip Runner

Gish

Half Life 2

First game: Braid, and a trivia question. The Jumpman level in Braid is an allusion to the original name of what classic video game character? First person to correctly respond in this thread gets the game.

Ironically I bought myself a disc copy of Braid just a few weeks ago.

..but it's a nice idea, Andromus!

EDIT:  I would like to have World of Goo, so I hope you ask a Q  I know for that one...

Are you offering us keys to dld copies, Andromus?

I take it that these are steam/desura keys that you got through bundles like HiB?

I already have Braid. In fact, I also ended up with multiple copies of Braid, though my sister got my extra key.

I even checked if my brother has Braid and of course, he does... then I also remembered he helped me with a particularly hard level I just could not figure out. It's a brilliant game.

Well, if we're throwing subtle hints at the games we do want, please please make VVVVVV question super easy?

Well, if I miss WOG, then I'll be keeping my hopes up for Half-life 2..   Tssk, pity everyone already has Braid.  I've not played mine yet, mind you.

Right, these are all extra Steam codes I've gotten through various bundles.

Heh, no worries, I probably won't ask anything requiring more than a quick Google at worst.

Nice idea, Andromus

Bit.trip Runner is the only one I don't have, so waiting for the question regarding it...

Oh, and for anyone anticipating a particular game, I'll be introducing games to the contest in the order they appear on the list. So World of Goo will be up next. I'll give the Braid question another 24 hours, lets say, and if no one wins it I'll still leave it available, but will also throw out a question for a chance to win World of Goo at that time.

I know someone who would love to play Braid. So, the answer is Super Mario

And I'll be really embarrassed if it's not.

Yup, Mario is correct! Steam requires an email address or Steam user name of the recipient to send games. So if you'll PM one of those two, I'll send the info needed to claim the game.

I noticed that I also have a key to spare. If anyone is interested in the game NightSky, I have a key for the steam version.

Next game: World of Goo, and a question about goo. What's the goo-like substance that plant and animal cells are made out of? First correct answer posted here, gets the game.

Andromus - Cytoplasm  ?

That's nice of you as well, Fnord.  We should have called this thread the Christmas gift give-away thread.

I don't think I have any spare games atm.  I gave the ones I had away already, AFAIK.

I don't really want the game, but I'm going to guess that the next answer is Aleister Crowley.

And Andromus.  I no longer have that AGP jpg, as I have gotten a new computer since I designed it.  Suppose you could send it to me?

Oh, so close. The correct answer is Justin Beiber.

Sure can. CYPM.

Oh, and I'll be posting the question for a chance to win VVVVVV sometime tonight.

OK, here's the question for a chance to win VVVVVV. Call it a "V" question, V for vocabulary. Said one way, this seven letter word means unjustified; said another way, it's someone who is sick. What's the word?  First correct answer posted here, gets the game.

And thanks for the jpeg!  It warms my heart to discover that despite my being banned, libelled, maligned, ripped off and plagiarised that you and Dave still wear the AGP badge proudly.

Way to go all Guy Fawkes on us.

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

(a total stab in the dark, btw)

The movie V for Vendetta was, in fact, inspired by the actual Latin quote that VVVVV references in its title.

But the actual answer does not begin with the letter "V."
