I just downloaded Safecracker and when I try to play it, I hear music, but the screen is black. My computer is brand new with windows 7 home premium. Any ideas what is wrong?

Which Safecracker game do you have? The one from 1997 or the one from 2006? Where did you buy it from?

That one "should" work according to Big Fish. They list Windows 7 as supported.
You could try running the game as an administrator and setting it to run in compatibility mode.
For compatibility mode, right-click the game shortcut and choose Properties. Select the Compatibility tab and choose XP from the dropdown box. Disable visual themes and advanced text services if you see them on the tab and OK the changes.
To Run as Administrator, right-click the shortcut and choose "Run As Administrator."

It's interesting that both the ***old Adventure Company page for Safecracker*** and the ***AdventureShop page*** for their download version don't list Vista or 7.

If you don't have a physical video card, it won't run. Onboard video is not supported.

That would #1 on my list of causes. Never could get it to run on my laptops. I always thought that that was one of the most ridiculous restrictions of what is hardly a 'video-demanding' game.

Thru some glitch, my post showed up duplicated. When I tried to delete it, the deletion didn't work.

katz08 -

It would be MUCH easier if you posted your specs (cpu, graphics card, etc), as it might be a hardware problem
