Depends. I save my FRAPS screenshots as .bmp, which is the highest uncompressed quality possible Then I convert to .jpg with ACDSee. FRAPS has terrible .jpg compression.
I do the same. It all depends what is captured on the .bmp. I don't think it is the best.

The horse riding a horse screenshot came to be because of a very common bug where NPCs will spawn a few meters above ground and then fall down (at one point it was raining children in Solitude, due to this bug). And yes, there is a reason why there is "solid ground" up there, which I found out afterwards, though I won't spoil it for you (the time I flew up there was because of a shout from an enemy, the physics engine gets a bit wonky when you, or anything else, tumbles down a sloap).
Here is a screenshot of me & Lydia, sportnig the finest in personal protection

I'm wearing a dragonscale armour & shield, and at my side I have my trusty daedric mace, while Lydia sports a dashing Dragonplate armour & shield, and has an ebony mace.

so a question about the dialogue ..is most of the NPC dialog still text only or do they actuall vocalize everything as they do in Gothic? i was wondering how they might handle that....
great pics thanks so much to all of you for sharing them.

While you still still hear the same voice from time to time, and not everyone is great (no Patrick Stewart this time around), the voice acting is an immersion builder and not an immersion breaker this time around.
And mark, what the heck happened to your home? It looks like a batchelor has lived there for a long time.

I'm wrong up there. The Print Screen screenshots go to the Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/common/skyrim folder.

Yeah, me too. This is the only game I've ever played where it feels right to have subtitles off. Although it sucks if you level-up mid-conversation and the music that just goes on and on muffles all voices

There's quite a variety of music in the game, dynamically switching up depending on various aspects.
A few of the songs that stand out for me:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhhiNnxf5yw (has a very silent hill type vibe imo)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_5QhJeTqfg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLD0VNch46w (reminds me of Ultima Online - stones song).
Then of course there's the Morrwind songs that JEremy soule remixed, with the gregory chanting, etc.
The soundtrack is meant to sound old, a mix of medieval, celtic, viking, etc and imo it does it well.

The graphics in some places are stunning and gorgeous. In other places they are actually one-dimensional and really terrible.

Please make them a reasonable viewing size for most monitors - about the size of the one in Halcyon's post #64 would be best. Thank you. You may now resume your obvious enjoyment of the game.

How about you code in the script that resizes images to custom-fit different monitors? What looks big on 1024x768 doesn't necessarily look big and site-breaking on 1920x1080. I don't want to be rude, but this forums has been broken since re-launch and it really needs to get on with the times already.

Status : Offline | Yeah. Anyway, just wanted to say that I too, still find the graphics grungy, especially in the colder areas, and most NPC's (Kajiit are an exception; - I'm finding them pretty nice looking) but this is one of the few games where I'm really enjoying the music and keeping it at a reasonable volume. I like that there's a nice variety of music in Skyrim. I used to love the music in Gothic 3 as well. The music in Witcher 1 and 2 is also nice, I find.
