My kids bought me Noir for a present (used at a thrift shop for $3!) but I haven't been able to get it to run yet. Looking forward to it though!

You're in for a treat, especially if you liked AGON. Yoomurjak's Ring is a wonderful game. Enjoy!

It's not a large game in terms of areas to visit, but the developers made good use of the space they had. Quite satisfying to explore -- lots of secret nooks and crannies to find, and important clues are almost everywhere.

Botanicula didn't really appeal to me to start with but I gave it a go as so many people seem to love it - I got quite addicted & played it through a few times trying to collect all the cards!
I thought Yoomurjak's Ring was a great game (I like FMV anyway) - the Hungarian voice acting was so good I forgot that I was reading subtitles & the puzzles although logical were very challenging!
I wish that more developers/publishers of games in a specific language would think about producing the games with subtitles in alternative languages rather than rely on full conversions that often don't happen!
I forgot to mention - I'm 1/2 way through Runaway 3 which I've been enjoying & also someway through Gemini Rouge - I've come to a standstill there as I can't get my head around one of the shooting exercises!

That's exactly what I've been thinking. All those German adventure games from Lace Mamba, Cranberry and Daedelic could be released with much less delay than they have now, with English subtitles. Unfortunately I don't think sales would be great because some people don't like subtitles. I found it hard to believe, but it's true.
Yoomurjak's ring was just brilliant.

Not just German titles! - I don't know the technical difficulties/costs etc in producing games with subtitles but Yoomurjak's Ring has proved to be very popular - yes! it's a great game but one of the appeals for me was that it was spoken in the original language & I forgot after a while that it was subtitled. As with non-english films with subtitles thinking back I remember them in 'english'. I'm sure that subtitles if the cost was low enough would expand the audience for a game!

I been playing casual games for so long that a real adventure game is a bit of an adjustment. This game has lots of dialogue, even though it's important to the story, there's no skipping if you've heard it before. The puzzles reqired innumerable back and forthing that was really tedious. I'm disappointed, and hope that Yoorumak's Ring is a better game.

I haven't played Broken Sword 4, so I can't really comment on it. But I would recommend playing the series from the beginning rather than starting with the fourth game. The first game is the high point of the series by far. And as George and Nico's personal storyline connects throughout the whole series, it's a lot easier (and more satisfying, in my opinion) to follow it by starting from the beginning.

What operating system are you using Elliot? Broken Sword IV doesn't work with Vista or Win7.
