I bought E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy during its last sale, and while some people on this forum (Markornikov I think) said that it was less than stellar, it still seem like an interesting game. Then again, I just got Uplink with the current Humble Bundle, and that is a game that I've wanted to play for some time now. That and I have Nuclear Dawn installed. And I also just found out that an old friend, who I've almost lost contact with, was part of the team that made Payday: The heist, so now I almost feel a bit guilty for not trying that one.
Nuclear Dawn does by the way work surprisingly well. Most players play as basic soldiers (one of four classes, all of which have different "kits" that they can use), one player plays as a commander who can place structures, research new "kits" for the players and such, and also place attack/defend/"go there" commands, for the soldiers to follow (if they feel like doing so, but the game encourages you to listen to your commander, as it gives you extra points for doing so). The players need to capture resource generating points (think Dawn of war or Company of heroes), which in turn lets the commander build & research new things. The goal is to destroy the opposing teams command bunker. The 4 classes are the basic ones, a diverse solider (who have a good range of different kits to pick from), a sneaky soldier (who can turn invisible, and can either go melee or sniper, but can't take much damage), a heavy solider (who have a minigun, and can get an anti structure "kit", can take a lot of damage, but is slow) and a support character (who can heal other players or repair structures, depending on its kit).

Anyway i did not have th 16 GB or whatever needed to play it either

Single core processors are quite old in terms of technology these days. My old comp was a dual core and I built that one around 4 years ago (an dit wasn't high end then either).
What intensive games do you play? Don't see how you could play most modern intensive games on a single core processor. Lot of modern games are being built to take use of multiple cores/threading, and becoming very cpu dependent.

Well, the game runs (on low graphics settings) incredibly smooth, so I guess that I'll actually be able to play that without upgrading my computer.
I've seen this being played on a console, and I'm getting a smoother framerate than what you would get on a 360.

Status : Offline | Hmm, I'm looking for some advice. Now that I'm finally recovered from my surgery and back at my computer, Skyrim is seeming boring to me. I've just done "Under Saarthal" for the mages' guild, and ... I just don't feel like more of the same. Should I rather travel to the south of Skyrim, will that spice things up (been spending all my time in North) or shall I rather play something completely different for a while to test if I'm not just burnt out on gaming in general? Hmmmmm...
...and if so, what? Argh. I'm tempted to see if I can get hold of HR and/or LA Noire this coming week. And hey! Heroes 6!!!!
Oh, and isn't Game of Thrones out yet? Been out of touch, but I seem to remember it's been released...
Meantime, i'll try the Skyrim South and see about some of my existing games.

Spoiler AlertSo you end up being the archmage, but it doesn't grant you anything but a creepy windy quarter in the guild. It's not that you get to lead the mage's guild, they could've done more with your role as arch-mage.
So I suggest you travel east to Markarth or Solitude for some interesting quests or coninue the main Quest

Congrats on starting to get better.
Heroes of Might and Magic 6 is on sale on Amazon for their black friday week , it's only 27 bucks for the digital deluxe version.
Also batman: AC is out on pc now, it's at an amazing 24 bucks on EA's Origin black friday sale, ends in a few days, this is the cheapest you'll get it for a while (it uses GFWL, like Batman: AA).
Been playing the heck out of it, makes a great game to bounce between with skyrim so you don't get burnt out.

Let this be a warning to anyone who tries to break the law on my watch, you will be stuffed into a bookshelf.
So Deus Ex HR is not bug free either. If you do a melee takedown on anyone who is to close to another object, then there is a risk of that person getting stuck in it. In this case it was not much of an issue, as there was no other person around, but as it was impossible to pull the body out of there, it could become a problem if you want to hide it.
If you feel that Skyrim is getting a bit stale, try the main quest, it is quite different, or side with one of the two main factions, you will get some Gothic 3-like quests later on in their quest chains.

I am so glad you are feeling better!!!!!

Fnord, I wonder if anyone would "see" that body in there? Would be interesting, actually, if the AI sees the body as "visible" if you cannot access it. And thanks I seem to be back into Skyrim for now, but i think i'll be doing a bit of shopping for backup games soon...

I picked up Limbo earlier today on a steam sale, and this is quite a clever little game. The puzzles are well though out and quite interesting, and the game requires more thought than manual dexterity (though a bit of manual dexterity is needed). It should be noted to anyone who is interested in this game that it contains scenes that might be considered quite disturting. The death scenes are rather gruesome, and the fact that it is done to a child might be too much for some, even if it is a child consisting of a black silhouette with two white eyes.

Status : Offline | A game i am very much enjoying and was quite surprised by is Advent Rising, it is a sci fi story set in the future, a alien ship is discovered near a distant planet, and a space station is the setting, the characters and the setting are beautifully done in an alternative almost artistic but still realistic style, and the in game videos of whch there are a lot are in the same style so the story unfolds almost like a movie but you do control the main character and it is a combo FPS/action story a lot like the Academy Star Wars game, the world is fully 3D and the action and the detail is amazing...you also interact with some very well done aliens and things get 'busy" very fast....the action scenese are again very well done and there is constant activity by hundreds of fully active NPCs with individual spoken dialog so it is reallly a remarkable game. I hear it is not that long but i really find it quite amazing for the quallity fot he game world and the artistic sty le os beautifully done. I guess you would have to enjoy both sci fi and action but it is a game in a category of its own, maybe along with a game like Mass Effect ...this one is also farily strongly "tracked" but the way they did the in game vids and the overall style, it is really qutie a lot of fun. As it is an older game, it may not be happy on Vista....and you have to run the game with a DVD of the in game videos so that they can play as you go along but so far it has worked well.

Segment of the game on You tube

originally there was going to be a trilogy of this game but i think this will be the only one sadly..I think it is made by a french company which accounts for the remarkable and quite artistic style and unique nature of the game.

A friend told me about Advent Rising - I'm so not a fan of space/aliens/sci-fi, but it's one game I've been considering playing for a while.

i am replaying a fun stand alone level for Tomb Raider IV, called the Times Exclusive Level, it was made as a promo back when the game was released and is a lot of fun, a classic TR adventure with Lara ...

Aww, Tomb Raider IV! It's my favourite. I don't remember if I played the Times Exclusive Level, but it's such an amazing game. Art direction is so good the game looks nice even by today's standards.

Limbo is by the way not a very lengthy game. I spent 2.7h on it, according to steam, and I've reached the end. And now I feel tempted to pick up the plus version of Cave story...

You have to run the installer in Win 98 Compatability mode but it should work fine.. and it is a lot of fun. you can adjust the controls, save and set the graphics just like usual. It is a full typical level with secrets and traps and foes to fight and loot and all that sort of fun.

If you have any trouble, install the universal patch for all the early TR games for XP, Vsta and 7 found here:
http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/windowsxp.html
and it is a level for Last Revelations, TR IV and the graphics are as you say still wonderful even tho it dates from 1999 , the textures and lighting and level design are superb and I like the older games even more than the latest TR games which are getting more and more "graphically realistic" and less and less Tomb Raider and classic Lara.
Advent Rising is indeed a remarkable game, a unique one, like Anachornox and Omikiron, and the design keeps me ooing and ahing even when i am running around in full action for they threw in lots of detail and little things going on that make it seem very much alive and real. Little touches really add to story like the fact that the main character is a pilot in the Space Serivce and he gets into a brawl wiht a bunch of Space Marines in the Spaceport bar because he has been getting a lot of media attention and they think he is a pansy...things like that that are quite realistic and funny to watch.
And i started thinking of TR IV and look what happened:

Off on adventures with the Young Lara again
