Thanks for clearing that rather worrying little point up, Staff3!  Heheh, I bet you were thinking that ironically I was one of the biggest complainers about the SPAM huh?    I bet ypou were thinking:  "Sigh, there's no pleasing some people."

Well, I just got a bit nervous about all the new staff wagging their fingers and they way that a certain statement about the pre-moderating was worded.  ...but if you're still around, I feel quite relieved, I must say!

Actually, life for me is only a break from my adventuring, which I take VERY seriously

New staff, we have no way of covering our spoilers.  Being able to do that is crucial on a site such as this, where most games are story and puzzle-driven.  We're really struggling over in the "Other Games" section because many posts contain spoilers.  Many of the older posts contained covered spoilers that are now exposed.

Can a feature to allow this please be made a prority?

Thanks

I'm currently seeing the following topic header in dark gray on a medium-dark blue background, which is quite hard to read.

Thread: Back in Business

Also, the blue text links atop the page are stacked on eleven separate lines with All about Adventure Games in dark gray on a twelfth line.

Additionally, "Be the first of your friends to like this." next to the Facebook logo is in dark gray or black and the word Page: is in dark gray on both the top and bottom of each page.

Cheers, Terry

P.S. Just noticed that the following text is also in black or dark gray and dark blue against a medium-dark blue background near the top of the main forum index page.

If you can read the white letters on the background, you're better than I am - and let's get some borders on the table tags, at least something for the eyes to follow for each distinct forum.

I'm not seeing any unreadable texts at the top of the forum, apart from the "Be the first of your friends to like this." next to the Facebook logo ?

I'm using

Win7 - Google Chrome)

This is an IIS server you're running right? Is your CSS using some degraded properties by any chance - because I don't see the same issues with Firefox that I do with IE. It's actually a lot easier on the eye with Firefox (as well as Chrome).

And another annoyance with IE - the table formatting at the top of the page isn't correct.

I'm using IE8 and the format on top is off - if I use Google Chrome the top links line up in a straight line, not from top to bottom.

I see what Markornikov posted both in Safari and Firefox.  Everything is clear and easy to read.

Update: Using IE8 so I fired up Google Chrome and that corrected most of the color on color issues. It also adds new graphics and layout. Wonder why IE doesn't work with it?

EDIT: I was using IE9, not IE8

In my FF, it also looks great, clear and easy to read with contrasting white on background blue, and black on white.

However, in IE9, dark gray on dark blue which is very hard to read, and white on light gray which is relatively hard to read, but not as bad as the gray on blue.

I'm also using IE9 (fully updated), which displays the numerous graphic problems listed in previous posts.

That really should be corrected if at all possible, since millions of people around the world still use IE as their primary web browser.

Cheers, Terry

PS.

My OS is Windows 7 x64.

This is how Traveller's post #33 on page 3 of this thread looks for me: I can't see any of the other posts on page 3 with that browser (Firefox on a Mac). This is how Inland's post #55 on page 4 looks There is no way to scroll down to see the rest of Inland's post. What I'm seeing is similar to what Markornikov's picture is showing. The only way for me to see the rest of Inland's post is by quoting it and pasting it somewhere. This site used to have hundreds of reviews. Now I only see 22, even when I set the number of posts to 150 and the date range between 2001 and 2011. What happened to the rest of the reviews? Are they gone for good?

Wow, the problems with Firefox on Mac really do look severe, Jenny.

At least with IE, we can actually read the forum posts and scroll down through the replies.

Oh well, these growing pains are to be expected with a major site relaunch and I'm sure the admins are working to debug things as best they can.

Cheers, Terry

Here's a link to a web archive of the JA+ review page from August 2007:    ***link*** What happened to all those reviews?    I can only find 22 reviews now -- a handful of newer ones. Are they not uploaded to the server yet or are they gone for good?

If you click on reviews, Jenny100, you do get several sort options.  The default is to display 25 but you can choose more from the drop down menu.  I have to check again, but I believe you can also sort by dates and categories.

Same here except I have Windows 7 32 bit. I guess I'm going to live with the issues, since I'm not going to change from Explorer.

That won't help if the reviews aren't there. Doing a search from year 2000 to present, I get a single review from 2000, a single review from 2004, and nothing until year 2009. I get a grand total of 24 reviews. JA+ used to have way more than that.

Is it no longer possible to sort AG reviews alphabetically?

I found the old reviews from the Internet Way Back Machine (is there no way to insert a URL?)

 http://web.archive.org/web/20101206073809/http://justadventure.com/Game_Reviews/Alpha_Pages/A.shtm

Hopefully, the old fourm is still around for a backup.

I see what you mean, Jenny100.  I hadn't counted the existing reviews but just assumed they were there.  Let's hope it's something they're working on.  At least the JAVE is accessible, although it seems to be in a smaller window.

I hope they find the old reviews. It may be possible to restore them from the Internet Wayback Machine, but that would be a slow process and the Wayback Machine is missing a few graphics here and there.
